Orzoł doing warm-ups. I love Dildine’s shades - she wears them specifically so she doesn’t go blind in the lights when hitting down balls. Sorry to pester, but jumping and swinging? That would be "new". Friday etc, she was on the court but just passing out balls, and generally cheerleading.

Just got into our seats. Witnessed a hit-and-run rear ending outside while we were in line. Dude in a navy SUV rear-ended a Lexus SUV, then peeled out and drove away. Probably a 3-4x daily occurrence in that area. Tight streets, blind corners, lots of traffic, many on/off ramps in the immediate vicinity to go along with hills. It really is an awful place to drive.

Sheff pregame:
What allowed UW to win against Kentucky: Defense from both sides was great on Friday. They hung in there. Had a chance to win 3rd and didn't take them but happy they stayed with it. Kentucky really upped their play in the last two sets. Civita serving run in 4th set: Gives serving zones, but servers can change up if they see something different. Civita saw an adjustment and went after it. Crowd energy: Crowds are really into sporting events. Especially the students. Have been better than they ever have been. Overlooking teams: We are not overlooking this match. Marquette is really good. Should have been up 2-1 on Kentucky last night. It's also not in the DNA of the badger players. They may not play well, but they will be ready to play. Has no concern about that with this bunch of badgers at all.

I'm realizing how indifferent I am to drag racing. I mean, I knew I was indifferent to it before hand, but I'm getting a pretty solid reminder right now.

Dildine pregame:
What worked with Kentucky: They have found a balance between excitement and focus. Trying to not get overexcited. Liked that Kentucky gave them some real challenges. Marquette: Great defensive bro. Good serving. Marquette moves hitters around to attack different parts of court. Wolf: Moves all along the net. They will set her up in front of weaker blocker. Haven't forgot about 2019. Really looking forward to this test.

Walker had a very bad night passing.

Diane does badger notebook! Oh man it's been a long time since I've heard her voice.
Dana hit 600 career blocks. Only 4th badger to do that. 5th in kills all time. Badgers has tied a program home winning streak with last win.

You don't hear a play by play person with a mild lisp very often. I don't have a problem with it. Just interesting.
