Cal really needs to work on their passing. SC kept serving away from Mirkovic, targeting Smoot and sometimes DeSa and it worked. Their block was camped out on Cal's OHs. Crosson did call an early timeout at 5-1 I think, but it didn't help. Cal's passing did not improve and Smoot and Schmidt kept hitting the ball into the block or out. Thought maybe they could try Mirkovic out of the back row but it didn't happen. Hamm finally put it down, her only kill.
Credit to DeSa for so many digs, because SC had so many weapons and Cal's block just couldn't keep up. Scully wasn't much of a factor, but Airial had some thunderous hits from the middle.

If Mirkovic isn't 100%, I can understand why they didn't have her hit out of the back row. Why risk aggravating an injury when they really need her to pass.
