Florida really misses Forte. apologize if this has been mentioned already, but what’s her deal? Saw the ankle in FSU match… any timetable for return? Florida starts with 5 quick matches in conference that should all be wins. Would hate to see them lose 1 or 2 bc forte is out. |

I love the Gators but man, kinda wanted to see Miss St pull out the upset. Great playing by the Bulldogs. I hope Florida can pick it up soon. I want more for them. Gonna be a long season. Lawdy |

I thought a steroid shot fixed everything…that’s what they tell some of em anyway. 😑 |

Has Miss St. EVER had good VB? Not conference champions or anything, but upper tier SEC and make the tournament? 22-12 in 1976 pre-SEC days Best finish in the SEC was in 2011 when they finished 12-17 (7-13 SEC tied for 6th). Between 2017-2019 they won 4 total conference matches finishing at 1-17, 1-17 and 2-16 Miss St also has an 0-52 record all time vs Florida (0-53 now) Edit to add Miss St has taken a total of 4 sets off of Florida until tonight. They did not take a set between 1989-2005 and have not since 2010 until tonight |

I hate these back-to-back games as the home team. It's difficult to beat a team two nights in a row, even with the home court advantage. Last night we saw Mississippi State have all kinds of difficulty with first contact in the sets 1 & 2, but they eventually settled down and got comfortable. Now they get a second game tonight and they have to feel a lot more confident.
But maybe last night was Florida's "loss" (it was nearly a literal loss) and tonight the Gators come out and sweep. Since it's the only SEC match on tonight (not counting the UK/Mizzou match...and I'm not. lol) I'm hoping for another 5 setter.

Best finish in the SEC was in 2011 when they finished 12-17 (7-13 SEC tied for 6th) I remember that. Mississippi State had a good setter that year. Might have been the best player on their roster. Unfortunately, she quit in the middle of the season in 2012. |

Mississippi State vs Syracuse, set four, score was 24-25. Syracuse set/match point. A fan in the stands blew a whistle and Mississippi State let the ball drop, obviously what they do when there’s a whistle. They gave Syracuse matchpoint. I’m not sure if there is something in the rulebook for this type of event, but there should be, and it should be a Point replay. In basketball It’s called, inadvertent whistle rule. Did you use your fingers to whistle? |

Ok at end of match (last 40 sec.’s of video) Head Coach waiting for team meeting on court to adjourn, she turns walks to assistants and appears to be agitated and index finger and emphatically chewing about something at assistants! Any tea on the chew after that match??? |
