Florida really misses Forte. In sets 3 and 4 Florida gave away points like a drunken sailor spending money on shore leave, but fortunately they got their act together just enough in set 5 to sneak out a win.

Let’s get it tonight Bulldogs. Tonight will be a battle of what adjustments the coaches made overnight. I’m excited for a good battle.

Ok at end of match (last 40 sec.’s of video) Head Coach waiting for team meeting on court to adjourn, she turns walks to assistants and appears to be agitated and index finger and emphatically chewing about something at assistants! Any tea on the chew after that match??? Eh who knows. It was really loud and they're wearing masks. Just a minute earlier she was yelling pretty loudly trying to get the AT's attention as she was walking away. If she was directing any of that toward the strength and conditioning coach and athletic trainer, maybe it had to do with the health of the injured/sick players? Not satisfied with how quickly they're recovering? Who knows. She mentioned something about Forte not recovering quickly enough in the post-match interview.

I hate these back-to-back games as the home team. It's difficult to beat a team two nights in a row, even with the home court advantage. Last night we saw Mississippi State have all kinds of difficulty with first contact in the sets 1 & 2, but they eventually settled down and got comfortable. Now they get a second game tonight and they have to feel a lot more confident. But maybe last night was Florida's "loss" (it was nearly a literal loss) and tonight the Gators come out and sweep. Since it's the only SEC match on tonight (not counting the UK/Mizzou match...and I'm not. lol) I'm hoping for another 5 setter. Im not hoping for 5. It’s nice when they have a “good” match and get to spend time after going to dinner or something with family who drove 6 hrs to get there for the match, only to be told afterward that it’s not going to happen. “Maybe tomorrow night..” Lordy I swear I’m weary of this.

I am not a close follower of the UF program, per se, (or this thread, so I apologize if this has been brought up before) but I am wondering if the staff change in the offseason might also be a bit of a disrupting influence on how the Gators are doing. Wells was there for a long time and the staff had been fairly stable. No shade at all toward Ambler, who I have heard many good things about overall, but I wonder if there are some issues in terms of preparation or in-game adjustments. Florida looked to completely take the foot off the gas in set 3, and it took them a really long time to try to figure out how to slow down the Bulldogs.

I wish I did.

I have a Whistler in the building though. Haha.
