tough to pick between Luper and Timmer for offensive player of the week in the pac-12 imo I'm voting for Timmer for POW and Luper for FOW. 31 kills (hitting .303), 21 digs, and 3.5 blocks against WA >> 18 kills (hitting .372), 13 digs and 1 block against a Stanford team without Oglivie. It also takes care of my FOW vote. I"m not sure who else I'd go with there. I guess Miner but it feels like she's always my fallback for PAC FOW (and Luper is my other one). I realize that Timmer had so many kills, digs, etc. bc the fourth set had 90 points but keeping your game up that long is very impressive IMO. I don't count Becca Morse as a frosh. She played 44 sets (12 matches) in 2020 so she's a sophomore. I'm going to counter you: Timmer went 9-6-38 (.079) against Colorado while Luper went 19-3-39 (.410) against SC. And if you're going to throw in an Oglivie-less Stanford as a reason for Luper's superior offense, we have to include Washington didn't have its usual line-up either.

That would affect my decision. (But I watched most of both matches and I thought WA played better than Stanford once Oglivie had to leave the match.)

I recognize Endsley wasn't performing but isn't Crenshaw usually the libero? Bays started today, right?

WA has been playing Bays and Crenshaw, with Bays getting increasingly more time (at least to my eye). Is there any reason to think that wasn't bc Bays was playing better than Crenshaw? I mean, Francis and Baird had bad nights for Stanford even before Oglivie got hit in the head and had to leave. We just don't have any real replacements. If we did, they probably would have played instead of Francis. For most of the match, May was playing badly for UCLA. If they would have pulled her, I wouldn't say that I need to take that into account. (I know it's somewhat arbitrary bc maybe May and Francis weren't playing well bc of an undisclosed injury and I'm only taking known injuries into account.)

Hey, I completely respect your choice. I had Timmer originally too. But I remembered it's Offensive Player of the Week and just thought Luper put up two very strong, consistent performances.

I tend to vote for exceptional performances unless that player really laid an egg in the other match. I know Timmer's stats weren't good for the CO match but she was one of the key players in taking CO down in 3. But I understand looking at the overall record and saying that 2 x v good matches > 1 exceptional + 1 ok/good match. I also think CO and WA were better teams than USC and Stanford w/o Oglivie. But I understand if ppl don't want to take the opponent into account either. There are many ways to do it and all are valid POV imo.

POW B1G - Stephanie Samedy - 30 kills and 17 digs vs Michigan on Friday + 11 K , 14 digs and 5 blk and 3 Assists today. I'd throw CC McGraw out there too with 47 digs, 4 aces, 8 assists in 8 sets.

tough to pick between Luper and Timmer for offensive player of the week in the pac-12 imo A couple of Ducks put up deserving numbers: Karson Bacon hit .785 this weekend on almost 3 kps. Plus 1.37 bps. Nuneviller hit .379 on 4+ KPS, 3.37 dps,
