Okay, good for ease of flights, but who in the league office did St. Mary's annoy to get San Diego and BYU on the road to start their league slate? Brutal.

Saint Mary's got absolutely crushed by San Diego last night, -7, 21,-9.
This match should show if that was a fluky bad match by Saint Mary's, or if they really are that much weaker than the top teams of the WCC.
Either way, I think this should be an easy sweep for BYU.

I am surprised Saint Mary's is this bad. If Santa Clara is a competitive team year in and year out Saint Mary's should be also.

I looked back over the stats and realized that Harrer, the excellent Opp for Saint Mary's, hasn't played in the last 4 matches. Also, their libero, Knudsen, missed 3 matches (including their beatdown by San Diego on Thursday), but is back in the starting role today. So their defense looks a lot better than it did against San Diego.

Miss by St. Marys to not challenge that touch.

BYU looking solid this season. They should sweep through their conference.

Yea...my only interest in this match was watching and comparing freshman (Callahan and Stowell)... St. Mary's will at least beat Pacific. Wishing the best for Rob, but it isn't looking good this year.

I haven't watched the match yet, but judging by the box score, BYU had a well-balanced attack with five players who hit over .300 and had at least five kills. Koerber dominated with 16 kills and just two errors on 28 attacks (.500). Eschenberg and Gneiting each had eight kills, and Ballard-Nixon had seven. Callahan had a very nice match with five kills and no errors on seven swings (.714). Bower had 39 assists, nine digs and two aces. BYU hit .404 as a team.

I’ve heard some players out due to covid, so hopefully he’ll have a full squad soon.
