Kudos, IL. I didn't see it happening after they didn't close in four after being up 11-6 early. If you had looked earlier you would've known because Purdue blew the 3rd I was following live stats, so I could "see" the comeback by IL, but I couldn't really determine how much Purdue was blowing it due to their play.

Main reason I won’t buy BTN+ is the rumor from VT that they struggle with production and broadcaster issues. 🙄 Actually, this production was much better than last week's BTN+ video at Illinois. Not good, but much better. Ouch

Illinois doesn't get the respect it deserves. Even when they win against a quality team like Purdue some people attribute it to poor play by the losing team. What I saw was some very tough and targeted serving that continually had Purdue OOS. It kept them off the net and pretty much in disarray most of the night.
Illinois also has a big front row that's pretty mobile. They block well and keep a lot of balls in play, intimidating the other team's hitters into bad shot selections.
They're still inconsistent, so they are susceptible to runs like in the 2nd and 4th sets. But they have serious enough weapons to take on the top teams. This was no fluke. Illinois toughed it out and beat Purdue straight up. They deserved it.

Yes, Probably should be ranked, but what's frustrating for Purdue fans is that they really should have won that game, they outscored the Illini by 9 in that match.

One other thing to add, Illinois went 5 with Iowa and Northwestern last week, with no significant wins this year or (excluding Purdue) last. That's not the sign of a good team, so yes, it is natural for people to think that Purdue should play better than they did tonight.
Edit: ESPECIALLY if Purdue wants to be a final 4 team.

I would love Purdue to be more consistent.

I was waiting for someone to total the score of all 5 sets to justify something. Purdue is an excellent team and did a good job closing against tOSU last weekend. I know every point is important and the first points count just as much as every other point, but recognize that for whatever reason the last points are always harder to get. Don't diminish what Illinois accomplished tonight when getting the last points.

Big win for the Illini. Congrats to them. Hoping the Badgers can create the Mahomet-Seymour JV tournament level of passing mentioned earlier in the season on Sunday. Winning at Huff is never easy.

Gotta hand it to our defense and SR. It is showing signs of being on the up. Sure we had our down moments, but to go toe-to-toe with the best defensive team in the conference and squeak out a victory says something. Hoping this is not a one-off and is a sign of an upward trajectory. Wisconsin will be telling, however.

Just finished watching last night's match. Great team win for the Illini! Difficult to give credit to any Illinois individual, but if I had to choose one it would be setter Diana Brown. Great job by all! Also, shout out to OH FSU transfer Nunje. Indiana native had great placement on her shots. I wonder how many Purdue matches Nunje attended before she became a collegian. I-L-L...!

They beat your team. No, we blew it.......What?
