I didn't know Eileen had a sister (or sisters). The only one she would have played against was Kathleen, and the only years she would have would be 1991 & 1992, when their careers overlapped. Kathleen was a freshman in 1991. Nebraska hosted Illinois twice in 1991 - once in non-con (NU, 3-0) and in the NCAA tourney (NU, 3-0). Illinois hosted Nebraska twice in 1992 - once in non-con (IU, 3-1) and in the NCAA tourney (IU, 3-0). Interesting parallels to those matchups. Each team ended the other's season, and all but one match was a sweep. Unfortunately neither team's website shows rosters or stats for any of those matches, so it's hard to say if Kathleen played. Eileen certainly would have. Eileen had two sisters, Kathleen at Illlinois and Maureen at Loyola. Eileen and Kathleen had at least a year overlap but not sure if they played. I loved to watch Eileen play. She made it look easy. It probably helped having Val and NiKky set her. Regardless, he had a smooth and graceful approach that packed power behind her swing. Eileen Shannon, one of my favorite Nebraska all-time Nebraska players.

I'm going to miss this one live due to a Friday Night Lights family obligation; hoping my team plays better when I'm not watching. Go Blue!

Nebraska should run away with this. Michigan only has an 8-3 record............Wait a minute................Forget what I said.

I predict Nebraska in 4. Each team has a set where they look absolutely terrible, but in the end Nebraska extends rallies just enough and Blue makes too many silly errors.

Will Lexi Sun play at all? I am looking forward to the post game presser with Cook. It’s been asked and answered in press conferences and weekly show. Not sure what you’re expecting to hear on that topic. Unless one of the two lefts really struggle she either won’t play, or will get a spot opportunity situationally.

This game may tell if Nebraska is starting to gel!
