What I found odd was KU behind 14-13 in the 5th set and Bechard unwilling to call his last timeout?
I mean it's 50-50 that timeout would probably have caused Texas a serving error out of the timeout.
50/50? More likely itt would have caused a passive serve.

Just a question to kill the time before the next match, what's the story with the Kansas uniforms? The bottom half of the jerseys are representative of the buildings on campus? Every time I saw them, the first thought in my head was "someone's gotta get the laundry done better"

Great way to fight back, some days you just will not be at your best and you have to find a way to win. Texas served tougher in the last 3 sets, if they don’t bring the serve they will be in dog fights. Blocking was off all night, middles were slow to the pins, even with Molly in the front they didn’t get nearly enough block touches Receiving was decent at times and bad at times. Setting was not great, some of that was receiving. Skylar seems to be taking over as the number 1 offensive threat. Still love Logan’s tenacity even when things aren’t going great, she brings a confidence to the team that they can always turn it around. Fields is an excellent attacker that puts the ball away at a high clip. But I wonder how it would be if she had more passing, serving and floor defense duties?

Good to see Elnady on the sidelines yesterday. Hoping things are going good for her - she is important for the program in the future. I am guessing this will be a redshirt year for her at this point.
Angello started as the libero yesterday for the first time this year in a surprise move. My guess? An attempt to improve the serve receive against a very good serving team in Texas.
Serve receive was a problem all night. Mosser got 54% of the serves as Texas did a great job targeting her all day on an 'off' day receiving for her. Eggleston, Parra, Iosia, O'Neal all serve tough. I thought Kansas also served tough.
Watching that match - I have no idea how Bien could have only hit .283? Regardless, she is the best OH at Kansas since I have been following (which means she is better than Rigdon). Montero would be in the conversation had she not blown out her knee 3X. For people that hadn't followed Kansas - the injury to Montero in 2018 had a massive impact on the team for 2018-19 (or potentially 2017). She was the one player they could not replace. Mosser is also very good, but it will only be two years.
For Texas: I don't care what the stats say, Eggleston is/was the best player on the team. Fields is impressive as she is capable of just hitting over the double block. It was pretty obvious all day where the set was going and Eggleston/Fields had double blocks all night. O'Neal is solid on the slide, but it looks like Butler only gets a set when there is a perfect pass and a single block. Gabriel is a significant liability on the front row. Kansas was spreading out the attacks which made blocking for Texas difficult - and then very difficult when they spent half the game with just 2 blockers. And this is where Fields becomes a liability as they cannot really run a 6-2?
Tough match for Kansas to lose - as I guess that was their chance of the two matches this weekend. Kansas could easily end up losing 5 straight matches with their next 3 matches.

She hasn’t looked terrible when she’s playing on the back row a few times this season. Logan’s hitting percentage is down this season but when watching her I feel like she is asked to do everything (serve tough, receive a ton of balls, hit a ton of out of system balls, block)except drive the bus. Skylar doesn’t have those responsibilities and can focus on hitting and blocking, but I would like to see her get that chance to drive the bus before she leaves.

Even in high stress situations, she is so calm, cool and collected. You can see it in her face after being down two sets last night- no panic, no blame, just pure steely determination. Jhenna gets the team fired up, and Logan gets them to calm down and dig in.
