It’s all about how Salima thinks they fit. Wisconsin’s current assistants were not obvious picks when they were hired. But they were what Sheffield thought worked best. Weren’t they Sheffield’s assistants at Dayton? That’s a fairly predictable route. White wasn't. Dildine yes followed from Dayton, but when hired there wasn't an obvious choice. |

Sigh...Yes but the point I'm trying to make is that neither of them were big time hires, Dildine at Dayton, and Gary at Wisconsin when he was promoted to assistant coach. It was the fit that Sheffield liked, that worked for him. That's what I think Salima has done at ND. |

Kalamazoo College (DIII) will finish initial zoom interviews this week.
Buena Vista University (DIII, Iowa) has sent out requests for first round of interviews.

This job is full-time. My recollection was that Villanova had 2 part-time assistants who had to coach club and hustle camps to make it work. Is this a new upgrade to the staffing budget? Correct, but even so, A10 volunteer to Big 10 Assistant has got to be a short list, no? But clearly that staff has worked out very well. |

I know of at least one school that had the head coach quit because of the vaccine mandate. But the team did well with the assistant and they have since hired a new HC. Interesting though since this was about the state of Iowa, and I'm assuming, about the Iowa job. Tulane had a vaccine requirement so new Iowa head coach and his assistant he brought with him shouldn't be the issue. Sorry, not about Iowa. |
