I know they haven't had a winning season since Devine got there (12-17, 7-15, 10-20), but she had one year, one COVID-shortened year, and one COVID-hangover year. Is that enough time? Alabama will be looking for new coaching staff.

Bake was in the AAC tournament finals just earlier this year. Guess that wasn’t enough? Wow. Great coach and great guy. Hope he lands somewhere else Temple and Pitt were in a similar situation in 2010-12. Pitt is now a top seed and Temple was on the bubble once, 2016. There are 3 public universities that matter in PA - Pitt, Penn State and Temple, and one of those is not like the others in volleyball. Pa players are winning matches all over the country, but Temple has more players from Poland. “But Temple isn’t Penn State, and it isn’t Pitt” you say? That’s true, but you have a new president who was an undergrad at Stanford and a new AD who came from Texas. While it might be a fools errand, if they want to expect more from their volleyball program, they are welcomed to try. If they are doing this, I hope they open the wallet a bit. Temple needs to move out of the war zone to be relevant in volleyball. Doesn’t matter how much they pay a coach if parents won’t let their kids go to that school.

Per vbshrink in the Hot Seat Thread: their best player, Aliyah Wells, bailed on the team partway through the season and is now in the portal? Well In less than 3 years 17 players left under Devine, I understand this happens when a new coach takes over the program but 17 is a lot! I think her being let goes has more to do with complaints from her players. Devine was suspended for 3 games this year. Love Alabama and think RollTide deserves more from this coaching staff !

No, but East Tennessee to Alabama was an odd hire when it happened, and since then rival Auburn brought in the USC coach, they lost to Troy and a Kennesaw, and Texas is coming to the SEC. How far behind do you want to get? Bama was 7th in the Leerfield Cup standings last year so they don’t have a ton to fix.
