Tell me you don’t really know, without telling me Tell me you don’t know anything about the college hiring process without telling me you don’t know anything about the college hiring process. Everything said here is true. Bake is a really good guy. I’ve never been in his gym, but I absolutely believe he’s also a really good coach. All of that being said, coaches that get fired for not winning enough (even if volleyball people think it was unjust) don’t then get better paying jobs in better conferences. With the cluster that this hiring process was, you think somebody on Syracuse’s hiring committee knows enough about volleyball and the nuances of the sport to know Bake is actually really good and was just in a bad situation? if you say so. But I’d also venture to say that his resume mentions his record, Post season appearances, High RPI’s and AVCA regional coach of the year. Not just one year record where he got fired. And I’d bet the committee looked at his resume, but ok I know nothing. Person stated availability was his best ability, that simply is not true.

Syracuse was looking at fielding an uncompetitive team, and kind of panicking. In a way Syracuse is a blind squirrel, finding a nut by luck. Lets hope that they understand this by treating Bake well and supporting him with those things that killed the previous offers rather than hoping for a do over if he fails to succeed and people forget their unprofessionalism.

Looking at the website, it looks like Destiny is no longer at YSU. Anyone know if she landed a HC job somewhere?

Tell me you don’t really know, without telling me .... enough about volleyball and the nuances of the sport to know Bake is actually really good and was just in a bad situation? If you talk to anyone on the Temple administration or the SAs, you'd have a different opinion, and they would say that the previous coach put the team in a bad situation. There's more reasons to get fired than simply losing games.

Highland JuCo posted for Head Coach. Previous HC took the job at Lake Superior State before the end of the year, if I remember correctly.
Didn't highland post at that time? Is this a repost for some reason?
Edit -- I did not remember correctly. New LSS coach came from a different JuCo. Highland has been very good last couple of years. Anyone know the story?

Syracuse is again having trouble finalizing this hire. They do hope to be fully ready for the 2022 season.

So I think what you're saying is that Temple upgraded by hiring a coach that got fired from NC State for....... well you all really know what she got for and if you don't know why she got fired, then you're shamefully out of the loop........ That's almost laughable. You would take someone that had to practically beg for a volunteer job last year over a proven, well respected by his peers, AVCA Coach of the Year? But honestly, the question is why would anyone take that job at Syracuse? Can't recruit now. How many players do they even have left? They're going to win about 3 matches this fall. No resources. Terrible weather, so no one wants to go there. No support from the Athletic Dept. Not a good job. I'm guessing the salary isn't even very good.

Maybe I'm out of the loop, but you definitely are as well. Temple's new hire had multiple schools offering her paid positions last year, but denied because she was still being paid by NCST. Then she took an assistant job at the #1 team in the country. (Not sure how that is begging) I don't know how her firing went down, but many in the vball community still hold her in high regard.

George Mason hasn't announced their new head coach yet, but I saw a 2023 announce their commit, so apparently the assistants are making offers? Or is there a head coach in place that just hasn't been announced yet? What's going on there?

I believe they have decided to go the Interim route with the current assistant taking the reigns for the time being.
