Official statement from VCU Or “I’ll resign if you stop the ongoing legal matter” Such a cynic. Probably correct though.

“In addition, during Lucas's tenure at UAPB the team jumped from a 375 NCAA ranking (out of 380 teams) to a top-100 program.” Aside from the fact that there’s only 340 teams, but was UAPB in the top 100 of the RPI at any point in the last couple years?!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is going to get way more interest than it should.

YC badly needed a coach, Lucas was in desperate need of a job and a fresh start after all of the bad press that she got from the Grambling State debacle. Seems like a match made in heaven, even if the SID didn't fact check that they never had a 20 win season under her or a top 100 RPI ranking.

I heard YC was transitioning to JC D3, which is doing away with scholarships.

How do you just lie, as either a candidate or an SID, about having coached a top 100 program?

C'mon, how many athletic depts have a researcher on staff that could figure out if something like that is true? I mean, where would you even begin to look for that?

It’s a hiring process where you have to do due diligence, a simple google search would at the bare minimum make you question that UAPB was a top 100 team With that alone they could’ve asked her straight forward about that and if she insisted that it was true, they could’ve asked her where to find that information to confirm it (dead end)….they’re the hiring side, they’re allowed to ask you for information on your resume that they couldn’t find on their own…..it’s already embarrassing that they hired her but to also have completely false information in the press release is a whole different level of embarrassment

There are coaches out there getting rehired who have tried dating their players, asked for sexual favors, and/or touched players inappropriately on flights. There are coaches rehired who are "loud" with their assistant coaches (married to other people) while sleeping in hotels next to rooms with players. There are coaches who have purchased alcohol for their under-21 athletes. There are a lot more athletic administrators out there who don't do due diligence than do, mostly with non BB/football sports.

Yes there’s a difference between actually doing due diligence and the ability to do it….my post was in response to the idea that there’s no way they could verify the information and I was saying that they could’ve (specially that we’re talking about claimed achievements here, so it’s a different story altogether and way easier to verify than the examples you’ve described as you’ll find them on the internet)….I’m fully aware that coaches with very shady history get rehired, we’re actually talking about one lol
