At the start of the season, people said he was injured. I think its unfair to include Porro in any discussion about the poor performance of Ishikawa. This is all on him. I mean porro was the mvp of the ravenna game. And Jaeschke, Chinenyeze and Patry have been getting incredible numbers with him setting. I disagree. I think Porro is a skilled setter, but some of the inconsistencies and predictability surely affects the hitters. I think you’re embellishing here, and it would be unfair to blindly compare the sets Ishikawa gets to players who don’t play the same position. I fully understand that I am a biased fan, but I don’t think my original statement was unfair. Ishikawa is injured at the beginning of the tournament and we don't know the exact impact of his injury. Porro is setting everyone well. So do we replace Porro so Ishikawa might have a better performance and risk everyone else's performance to go down? Jaeschke is new to the team. As well as Chinenyeze and Porro. Porro is a new setter yes but everyone else has adjusted to his sets, why can't Ishikawa? I don't understand the need to blame other people. This is all on Ishikawa. Also, its not like Ishikawa's hitting is the only problem. He has a lot of service errors and his reception and digging are not like his VNL and Olympic performance. Probably this is mental as well.

Ishikawa is the problem not Porro.

I do not think that Porro has been playing very well. I have only seen a few Milan matches, but he has not yet excited me.

You were implying that Porro is the problem. I just stretched your idea. Ishikawa is the problem not Porro. That is a misrepresentation of my original post. But go off I guess well you said that Ishikawa's performance is due to the setting of Porro. I'm just saying that Ishikawa's performance is his own doing. Every setter are different. Chinenyeze and Jaeschke came from different teams and yet they have adjusted to Porro sets. You can't blame other people for Ishikawa's poor performance when he is injured to begin with. Its his fault he is hitting that low percentage. No one else. I'm just reacting because I'm been reading hate tweets on Porro online. Its not his fault Ishikawa is not good this season. Its like the burden is on him for his spikers to perform well. Ok, his sets might not be perfect but they are hittable. And BTW, he is the MVP of the last match. And ishikawa isn't performing that well again. So do you blame Porro again?

I have nothing against Ishikawa. But he is definitely not my favorite. And blaming someone else for his underperformance is unfair. And also not addressing someone's effort in winning a match is also not fair.
He was good last season. But he's not playing well this season. Not by a long shot. And its no one else's fault but him. No one can get himself out of that hole but himself.

Anyways… there’s rumors that Nishida’s calf injury could last longer than expected (on the order of a month) and Vibo is searching for alternatives.

Takahashi’s university team failed to advance in the All-Japan Intercollegiate competition. I believe he will be heading to Italy soon
