That was the best I’ve seen Newton play by far. She saved Purdue today Hey, hey! A little credit here too ⤵️

Great win for a Johnson/M. Hornung-less team (I get she played a little, but not her normal “minutes”). Newton and Koch had solid games! I’m REALLY hoping Johnson returns soon, her presence and play is missed.

So we all agree Jena O vs. Jenna H is what really made this match exciting, yes/yes?
Damn where you at @madden55?!

Newton was playing like Purdue fans know she can play. Glad she came back for a 5th year. Same goes for Otec. I am also loving the little Hornung had a lot of playing time today.

So is this match worth a watch ? With the exception of set 2, yes!

Tough loss for PSU, but Starck has such a bright future. She reminds me of Megan Courtney, does everything well. She even set some in high school, just like Courtney.

I meant to ask this earlier: Who is the heir to the Blossom throne when she leaves? Those are some huuuuuuuuge shoes to fill.

So is this match worth a watch ? Yes, fun match to watch, solid play on both sides most of the match.

Chinn started the match but couldn't get Purdue the kills they needed OOS. Koch came in and played up to the level they needed by the 4th and 5th sets.

Thank you. 👍 Purdue used 3 QB’s 🏈 vs #2 Iowa and WON 👍 so maybe the ChinnKochEllis 🥰 system will work 🙏

I’m about to say the most Indiana thing, but I missed the match live today harvesting corn. Newton! What an incredible match! Koch! Thank you. I have been a harsh critic of her. Also, I have seen practices, lots of them, and I have felt, even in practice, Chinn was number one among the three. It is clear at this point that while she is the most skilled she does not have a heavy enough arm in the big matches. Hopefully by next year she’ll have a little more pop on the ball. Koch has a hell of an arm and has (maybe) figured out how to not use it to hit into the belly of the block. Her problem was a low contact point. If she can keep this up, I would be in favor of going with Koch and letting her figure it all out before tournament time. Happy that the service pressure picked up in the 4th. Kudos to A. Hornung on some nice play. I hope Cleveland gets things figured out, and gets some needed rest.
