One of those matches where we clearly lost the serve/pass battle, but won the match.

Honestly if Utah didn’t let that first set slip away this may have been a very different result. Teams still have plenty time to right the ship. Stanford is young and is still working out the kinks the connections and timing combined with the defense aren’t always there. Hambly looked pissed yelling during the break but whatever he said must have worked cause the Card really woke up after that.
I think Utah can’t win the NC their ceiling is very high and their floor is very low just way too inconsistent, I will say though they possess the talent and team to beat anyone, so I wouldn’t want to see them in the early rounds of the tourney cause on the right night they can knock off anyone.

I wouldn't want to see Stanford either yet there's a decent chance that both teams will be unseeded. As someone said earlier, either team could be out in the second round or make it to the Final Four. Neither result would be all that surprising IMO. They both have very high ceilings but are inconsistent.

Dani Drews...........Stanford will be reminded of Plummer as Utah beats Stanford at home Oh Boy. Stanford is going to the Final Four................what a balanced team, Drews was the best player on the floor but she had no chance against Stanford

Van Der Werff had a pretty decent game. Glad to see Utah actually get some production out of their middles.
11k, .667, 5 blocks

One of those matches where we clearly lost the serve/pass battle, but won the match. Not enough receptions from Oglivie lolol. I wish she was more aggressive in SR and passed more of the balls but Stanford doesn't really do that...

A newbie here. Stanford survived this one, but they had a good 4th set.

Oh Boy. Stanford is going to the Final Four................what a balanced team, Drews was the best player on the floor but she had no chance against Stanford Need more middle offense Passing wasn't great last night and it was hard to run many plays in front of the setter. Vicini got rejected once and another of her hits, which looked good technique wise, was just out wide. If the middle hitters could cut down on the HEs, then perhaps Miner would trust and set them more. I guess to face reality a bit, we don't have the most dynamic duo at the MH position. Hambly mentioned in the chalk talk on Wednesday that they are trying to involve the MHs more and it is a focus in their practices. Miner was sick for several days before the Oregon St. match so missed some training too. All of this is forcing Stanford to be pin heavy, at least for now.

A newbie here. Stanford survived this one, but they had a good 4th set. They def survived the 1st set. Escaped even. But they figured it out well enough to win the 3rd hitting .500 and a fairly comfortable 4th despite their issues.
