I might be the only one on here watching this tonight. This is Michigan's first trip to Wilkinson Hall; the last time they traveled to Bloomington in 2018 they were upset by the Hoosiers in 4. The 2021 Wolverines are not as experienced or talented as the 2018 team, so I wouldn't be too shocked to see a similar result tonight. Prove me wrong Blue!

What are the keys to a Hoosier win? Pin production. Mady Saris has pretty much been a mainstay in the Indiana lineup on the left side, but I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't start in this one. She's clearly been nursing an injury and she got subbed out late in the first set in Indiana's last appearance at Minnesota after four errors on nine swings. Morgan Geddes came in for her, and Geddes has actually gotten most of her work on the right this year. If Geddes plays on the left, then Zumach will need to produce (and limit errors) on the right. Brooke Westbeld also got the start at setter last Sunday after Camryn Haworth got most of the action this year. I think Westbeld starts tonight. |

Michigan takes a tight first set 25-22; not particularly pretty but got the job done at the end. Middle offense is non-existent for Blue and Johnson continues to struggle setting Jones.

If the live stats are correct, Michigan missed getting 100% sideout by one sideout in Set 2.

As a Dayton fan, I would love to have seen Westbeld stick around for one more year. They would be so much better with her running the offense.

She came in for Jess Robinson at the end of the blow out set and got a block assist. She's looked pretty good in the limited play she has seen this year, definitely a developing option off the bench. |
