Hawaii is tied for first in the Big West with UCSB. UC-Davis is 8th
The University of Hawai’i women’s volleyball team (12-6, 9-1 Big West) returns home to begin the second round of Big West against UC Davis (7-14, 3-7 BWC) and UC Riverside (5-15, 1-9 BWC). The Rainbow Wahine will take on UCD on Friday, Oct. 29 and UCR on Saturday, Oct. 30. First serve for both games will be at 7:00 p.m. This weekend’s matches will also be played in front of a limited number of spectators. UH’s first nine home games this season were played without fans due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic. All tickets for Friday and Saturday’s games are accounted for and eligible season ticket holders have already been contacted by the Ticket Office. Hawai'i holds a 16-1 record over the Aggies. The Rainbow Wahine swept UCD on the road a few weeks ago, 25-18, 25-13, 25-19. UH has won the last 14-straight matches against the Aggies. The only time UC Davis defeated UH was in a five set loss at UC Davis on 10/25/6/2013.

The Wahine better not take UC Davies lightly, cause if they do UC Davies will do to the Wahine what they did to UCSB. The key for the Wahine in this match will be whether Skyler Williams comes to match ready to play, or will she be missing in action. Whenever Skyler Williams comes to a match ready to play, the Wahine do well, but on those occasions when she goes missing in action, the Wahine struggle.

Tell us you're obsessed with Sky Williams without telling us you're obsessed. Right on cue with your weekly sh*t talking. Shut up about Sky Williams already! She is not the reason for the Wahine's inconsistent play. Her play alone does not dictate how the Wahine do.

Whenever Sky Williams has a sub par match, the Wahine struggle, or even lose. If Sky Williams plays up to her capability every match, I would not be getting on her at all. But she does not play up to her capability every match, that is the problem. She is a Covid Senior, who has been in the program for 5 years now. She should play like it.

The only reason i agree somewhat about Sky is because she’s the M2 and we have no pins who can still put up 15+ Kills @ .200 hitting when the Wahine have a game with regular passing lulls. Skyler getting kills and hitting at a high percentage usually has a direct influence in opening up the Rightside’s ability to get kills. This team is good when they’re balanced, so-so when it’s leftside heavy. Hopefully someone steps up and is bigger outlet on the pin next season.

Well, one of the Outside Hitters next year will be Leoniak. The battle will be for the other Outside Position between Wagoner and Alexander. For the Opposite Position it will be either de Goede, or Demirtas.

And Akana will only get better so her too may have a shot at the OPP position again.
