I was wondering if that was a high performance today for Drechsel. Didn't think she was playing up to her potential so far this season but seems she's trending back up. Definitely trending back up. Had a slower start in non-conference but that’s behind her. In conference, she’s putting down 3.5 kps and hitting 0.319.

Don't need to see that again!

In UW's 9 match win streak, Drechsel has hit .358 with 3.49 kills/set. 37s 129k - 28e = 101 / 282ta = .358 (3.49k/s) In five matches, she hit over .400: .433 (UCLA), .485 (UA), .500 (OSU), .517 (Cal), .404 (USC)

Yeah, set losses aside, which will happen in the Pac 12, the Huskies would love to have a re do of the first league weekend. It will be interesting to see who is flown to Seattle for the tournament.

It will be interesting to see who is flown to Seattle for the tournament. Based on RPI, it's not at all guaranteed UW will be seeded. If the Huskies win on Sunday they are in the driver's seat for winning the conference. I highly doubt they would be unseeded if they win the conference. But if they lose a few matches (let's say UCLA on Sunday and a couple more) then I think it's very possible they would be unseeded.

Yeah, that's an interesting way to look at it. Treat it as a loss and a learning experience, even though due to the serving line it was a win in the record book.

Like much of the PAC, multiple Husky matches have turned on a few key plays here and there. Yes, Washington could easily be 11-0 right now because both the Utah and WSU matches to start the season were winnable. But they could also be mired in the middle at 5-6 just as easily, because they could have lost last night vs. USC, and their wins over UCLA, ASU and Oregon were razor-thin victories. Somehow, after that first weekend they did seem to learn how to tough out the end of sets and come away with wins (seems like it was better defense, IMO). But they can't keep relying on snatching wins out of the fire once the tournament begins.

By selling out from the service line, and blocking and digging strongly, USC was able to blunt and disrupt UW's offense. In doing so, however, USC hoisted themselves on their own petard.
