Lmao ohhhh USC. This is the path you decided for yourselves. Meanwhile in some cruel twist of fate Mick Haley is busy trying to remember players' names in his weekly hot takes that he serves.

A win is a win is a win on the road, and USC is dangerous.

USC outhit Washington in every set? That's what AMA said on TV. Owes & Botkin were both over .300 19 and 15 kills. Both USC middles over .400 and had 9 and 10 kills each. Drechsel was the only efficient hitter for UW. Hoffman .211, Endsley .167, Sanders .111, and Grote at .000.

Sam definitely carried the UW offense, hitting .404, while even Hoffman only pulled in at .211 and Grote was @ 0. Somehow, they managed to put it together. with some help by USC's 15 SE.

USC hit about ~.100 BETTER than Washington and lost 3-1.
Got out-aced 8-1 though AND had 15 service errors to UW's 5. That's a 17 point swing, 23-6 in favor of UW.

Yeah, I was going to look at the numbers in detail, but I'm sure that's it.

UW +17 in the serving game. USC made UW look ugly, but couldn't overcome their own errors.

Total points scored: UW 100 USC 100
That's pretty interesting.
Where were the differences?
Direct serving points: +17 UW! (aces minus errors)
Direct blocking points: +7 USC (blocks minus errors)
BHE: +1 USC (meaning UW had one more error)
Non-block hitting errors: +1 USC (meaning UW had one more error)
Kills minus blocking errors: +7 USC
That doesn't quite add up correctly, so I think there may be an error in the live stat totals. Nevertheless, it's clear that the entire margin of victory for the UW came from points directly off the serving line -- aces and errors.
