Great win, im so scared of the illini tho Truly the wildcard of the big 10 this year. Pushed to 5 by Rutgers, 4 set win in Rec Hall. Curious to see which team shows up |

Samedy simply took over tonight. Was watching part of the match with someone who had never watched a college volleyball match before and they were able to pick her out within a few minutes of watching as being the most dominant player on the court by a large margin.

Also i think it’s safe to say at this point that Minnesota is clearly the better of the two teams. They also most definitely deserve a seed the way they’ve been playing lately.

Also i think it’s safe to say at this point that Minnesota is clearly the better of the two teams. They also most definitely deserve a seed the way they’ve been playing lately. it's just insane how many matches we win with no middle involvement and just Samedy putting holes in the floor. unheard of |

Don’t understand why Ohio State was ever ranked as high as they were… they beat Washington at home and Purdue… I think Ohio State had potential to be a legit top 7-8 team with a stronger/healthier version of Londot this season. Unfortunately that just hasn’t been the case. Their lack of athleticism on the pins is starting to catch-up with them. |

Miyabe quietly with a really good hitting night. 13 kills, 4 errors on 31 swings. 0.290 She brings so much consistency to the table that it baffles me when fans have insinuated she’d go back to the bench if Landfair gets healthy. I don’t see that happening at all. The team has steadily performed when she’s out there, and Miyabe’s been a LARGE part of the reason Minnesota has built momentum as of late. You don’t mess with a good thing. |

Impressive win for the Gophers. Congrats to them. Glad the schedule is working out so the Badgers do not have to deal with angry Buckeyes in Columbus!

Without watching and studying a replay I can't fathom how the Gophers managed to turn hitting 0 into hitting .295 in the last two sets.
I believe you have to recognize that the effort to serve tough leads to more service errors. If they are close. But 2A 10SE seems extreme. OSU was 6A 8SE and 3 belonged to Moore before they made the change.
Objectively I believe that MN is and was the better team, but I wonder if the battles that define B1G volleyball are emblematic of top10 teams struggling with lower hit %s or if these teams are questionably overrated.
One thing is for sure: MN is not a top 10 team at and above the net in the middle. They routinely turn overpasses into transition attacks for the opponents. IF YOU CAN'T DRIVE THE BALL TO THE FLOOR THEN POP IT UP TO YOUR SETTER AND RUN AN INSYSTEM ATTACK. They are actually better this year, imo, on the jousts but that's small % of above the net play.
One improvement they made: Podraza had zero kills on 5 attacks. In Mpls she had 4 kills on 12 attacks. The MN serve tonight kept OSU from the high passes near the net that she was driving in Minnesota.
OSU's floor defense, hats off to Murr, was really something in the second set. MN had 58 attacks only 9 kills. But overall, the MN floor defense this year has been stellar (save WI and PSU).

News Alert... Ohio St. is a pretender!
I can't believe I picked them to win over Minnesota in PTW. SMH (I deserve a verbal beatdown for that!!)
Now Ohio St. will get thumped by Nebraska later this week and they will be out of the picture finally!!
