The Gophers are 47-36 all-time against the Buckeyes, dating back to 1975Seems like it should be more than that? Did Ohio St used to be good in volleyball, in the olden days? Yes. They were in the Final Four (twice) before Minnesota ever was.

Oh look... the pony did their one trick One trick Ohio St has already lost to Minnesota and now you want want them be a 2 trick pony? Let's break down this really poor joke... - So the "one trick pony" line is a reference to someone only really doing one thing... or only doing one thing WELL. Depends on context. In my original jab, I referred to you as a "one-trick pony." You (the pony) only seem to make random picks at the beginning of game threads and then bugger off unless you happen to be right, then come back to gloat afterwards. With Ohio St (as I pointed out earlier) you almost solely pick against them (which, from your most recent post seems to come from some sort of personal bias and not actual consideration for the match). That is how this analogy is used, and used properly. - "One trick Ohio St"... what is the trick? Losing to Minnesota? They do do that regularly, but they have beaten Minnesota in Columbus in the not-so distant past. So that can't be it.... Is the trick losing to good B1G teams? They lost to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Penn St, and Purdue this year... so maybe? But wait, they beat Purdue. So that can't be it.... But those losses are all on the road and the Purdue loss is at home. So the "one trick" you are claiming Ohio St has is losing on the road to good B1G teams. Weird insult, cause that's sorta expected in this league, but whatever... it's your bad joke not mine. - "2 trick pony"... besides bucking the convention and using a digit and not spelling out "2", what now is the new trick? Losing at home to Minnesota? The Nuts don't really have a long-standing history of that, one instance doesn't match the convention of the original analogy. The "trick" needs to be a repeated pattern. So this doesn't really fit. If the Nuts had lost to Purdue, the new trick could be losing to good B1G teams at home besides just on the road. But one instance does not make a pattern. - "now you want want them"... Huh? I want them to lose? When and where did that come up? YOU want them to lose (apparently all the time for some personal grudge reasons). I want the Nuts to win (all the time... for personal reasons as well). So in the end the second trick has to be a positive thing.... so yes? I do want them to become a "2 trick pony". Lose to the good B1G teams on the road and beat them at home. I'm cool with that for now. Go back under your bridge. (I can't wait to see how you distort that analogy)

I picked Minn in 4 but afraid if it goes to 5, it will be O.S.

Lots of love for the Gophers in the voting for this match but Ohio State is unbeaten at home this season.
This shapes up to be a really good one.

I agree Minnesota vs Ohio State should be good.
In the BigTen, competition is getting tough.

I could see this going either way. I’d like Minnesota to win and I’ve been up and down on Ohio State all season. Hopefully we just get some good competitive volleyball.

I agree Minnesota vs Ohio State should be good. In the BigTen, competition is getting tough. This will be a tasty match, one that will deliver a melt-in-your mouth, buttery succulence.

Also, Ohio St has a men's D1 program, so historically you could argue it is more of a volleyball state than Minnesota. How many of those players are from Ohio? For that matter, have they gotten players from Minn? No idea what the answer is, just curious. Does OH sponsor boys high school volleyball? Great for them, if they do. MN will get it soon enough.

Gonna go OSU in 4.
For people saying MN needs to win a ranked road match, they’ve only had what, one opportunity in the Big Ten? And that was Wisconsin.
They did win @oregon, so technically that’s a road win. Only other ranked road win opportunities were @florida..
But it will definitely help their RPI a lot
