Nice way for my fantasy players to contribute at the end there. Colvin with 2 blocks, Cleveland with a kill and a block, and Otec with her 29th and 30th digs. Didn't think she'd have a better digging match than McKissock, but here we are lol. Go Purdue!

A welcome surprise: Emma Ellis led Purdue in kills (15) and hitting percentage (.370)

In the second set Maryland was up 21-18. Purdue racked up four points and Maryland called a time out. After the time out five Maryland players ran back on the court. The up ref blew the whistle for the serve. A couple Maryland players looked back at the bench to try to figure out where their sixth player was. The served ball was caught by a Maryland player as the sixth player was racing for the court. Point Purdue.
Don't know what the sixth Maryland player was still doing on the bench. Once Maryland got the ball back she was going to be rotated out in the back row so perhaps she thought she was out. That made it 23-21. Another serve and a busted play made it 24-21. Maryland was still a bit confused. They got the serve back at 24-21, closed to within 24-23 but couldn't get the tying point. That is a tough way to lose a volleyball game.
Never seen that happen in all the years I've been around volleyball, a player forgetting to return to the court or returning to the court after serve.
