What a massive match. Ohio State takes their first home loss last night and all of a sudden it feels like the weight of the world is on their shoulders. Oldenburg's biggest job is to get them to play loose. They tightened up just a bit late in sets last night. They can't afford to do that again.
Just want a fun match with both teams slugging it out at a high level.

I always root for the 'nuts' when they aren't playing our rodents JFO has a vexing issue finding a spot for Moore. She was awesome playing MN in Mpls. and sort of a nonfactor on Thurs in Columbus.
Even though MN had a multitude of SEs I think they won the serve-pass game vs OSU. In the B1G, if you don't pass well, your pins will be facing a wall. OSU needs to serve tough and pass well so that there are seams in the NEB block.
I'm not sure what in their resume has them ranked in the top10 of the AVCA, but they are going to have to make a statement on Saturday if they want to stay there. I fail to see how pre-season WLs vs other ranked teams, when you are testing your lineup configs, have so much RPI weight, but mine is obviously a minority viewpoint.
If Podraza receives passes in front of the 3 meter line with time to run a full set of options OSU can beat NEB. All of the upper tier B1G teams are capable of limiting their opp's hit% with good block touches. OSU needs to be more in system vs NEB than they were vs MN.
Go Buckeyes!

Coach is very good and he does a great job in managing all the high caliber athletes in the program. He makes a very difficult job look easy. GBR!

Coach Cook is pretty transparent, and says what he thinks. I can see how that might upset folks, especially when he says things they don't like, but he's usually correct in what he says--or largely so.
If you read his book (Dream Like a Champion) and listen to Lauren Cook-West's podcast with him, you see that he does care about the athletes he coaches and really wants the best for them. Sometimes that involves pushing them. I know in my own professional life that's had a largely positive effect, though it can sting a bit at first.
Certainly some of the things he says in public are harsh--maybe uncalled for. But there's some value in the straightforward approach. My opinion.

She did well last night, guessing she’ll play until the wheels fall off. Not saying they will, I like watching her succeed. I thought she played really well last night, but I hope they don't interview her immediately after Cook on BTN again. They asked them both about her coming back in...Cook said, "...she finally..." blah blah again, and Lexi had a weird look on her face like someone who's asked about something she's not supposed to talk about...choosing her words very carefully. (Or maybe like someone who can't wait until she fking graduates and gets a new coach.) I think you heard what you wanted to hear, which reinforced your negative view of Coach Cook. IMO Coach Cook has always pushed Sun with some of his comments. Whether this is a productive strategy, IDK. But his approach with Sun has been consistent. Also IMO if Sun continues to play as she has the last 2 matches, NE is a better team. Will she? Time will tell. That's how I interpretted Coach Cooks comments.

I saw the interview with Sun and it was a little awkward, but you have to consider how challenging the last few weeks had to have been for her. This is a kid whose never sat, ever, and then to be asked about that on air isn’t easy. I think she handled it as well as one could reasonably expect.

Nebraska could roll out their walk ons and get a clean sweep, OSU is slumping big time. I have a feeling they will find another gear Saturday.

Okay Ohio State. Y’all have one job. Just one job. Yep - one job - to tune up the Huskers for the big tourney, amplify their somewhat eroded confidence and to fortify their position for a nice seed. Get the job done, Buckeyes!!! Now if the OSU football team wants to do some confidence building for the "close but no cigar" Huskers, Big Red Nation will be exuberant.

Ohio State is a very solid team. I hope the Huskers play a good game. We need a good game to win against this very deep and talented Buckeye team in their gym. GBR!
