There's a big deficit at the right side position for the buffs. Parker should fill that void when she's ready. Her blocking looks good.
Outsides need to be waaayy more aggressive with out of system swings, and you have to run a back row attack when there are so few sets to the right side.
DS/libero: There are plenty on this roster to get the job done.
Setter wise Simpson does fine...there will be growing pains as she navigates the Pac12.
I'll always be on team DeLuzio...she did lead the buffs to their best finish in 2017 her freshman year. Her leadership will be essential and I hope JM finds a way to get her on the court. They need it.

DeLuzio had a chance to go almost anywhere in the country, in fact, she had entered the portal and told her intentions to a school she was going to go to. Instead, she came back to play a SIXTH year at Colorado, and she can’t even get a spot in the rotation? Please. #FreeDeLuzio

Can’t stand the Colorado coaching staff. They are useless. At 14 all in the 2nd set the DU libero set the ball overhand in front of the 10 ft line and the DU setter attacked the ball getting a kill and not one coach from CU catches that? That is completely unacceptable.

Couple things...
DeLuzio actually specifically wanted to play beach VB for her 6th year, and found out she couldn't do that per NCAA guidelines (can't remember why)... so she knew she would stay at CU if it was indoor only.
Agreed that Mahoney is a crappy on-court coach. I like Evan and Lee though.
Lastly, coach specifically said he is testing things out in preseason to see where people land. He already knows DeLuzio does well in games, but needs to see how Simpson and some others are in some pre-season lower RPI match ups. I could see DeLuzio as Libero with tougher match ups. He has also said a 6-2 is very possible when Parker is fully healed with the shoulder. A little annoyed he didn't switch things up sooner when CU was down against DU though.

On another note... CU had 23 blocks in that Denver match. Wow!
Hadrych had a good match with 20 kills and hitting over .300.
...and Hart is just a stud!

It's early in the season. Many coaches don't know now what they will end up doing yet for a regular roster.
CU pins do SEEM to be better than last year. Setting is more in line with the hitters. They need to hit higher though. Buffs block is just getting better and better. Still need to see how they do against the PAC come November when everyone SHOULD be better.

Hey Colorado fans! I wanted to see if you could help me out with a lineup prediction for the Buffaloes in this weekend's tournament. I put together a match thread for the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge in Boulder and would like to include a likely lineup, from setter all the way through to serving specialist. And here's a link to that tournament thread: Pac-12/B1G Challenge | Washington-Colorado-Illini-Iowa 9/3-4Thanks!

S- Simpson OH- Hadrych OH- Tabron MB- Hart MB- Kuehl OPP- Schneggenburger (my guess is Parker will be the right side when she is healthy. L- Lougeay Parker and DeLuzio were the double sub for Simpson and Schneggenburger late in games. Perry also got time as a serving specialist.

That is completely unacceptable. You can't challenge that. That's exactly what happened with that CU/Cal match a couple years ago where Cal challenged that CU's (L) went over the line on a set and they reviewed it and called the infraction. Later found out it wasn't challengeable, so Cal shouldn't have been able to do that and the point shouldn't have been reversed.

You can definitely have the captain talk to the ref about it because it was so clear. The libero was 5 feet from the net. The ref can overrule his call.

Two weeks in a row, nice! And Buffs receiving votes, though I would argue they should have been ranked, and Illinois should have dropped out, but that's just me.
