Not sure if this is where to post this but Kamryn Gibadlo verbally committed to Utah, 6’1 OH for 2023

The Utes lack a terminal hitter besides Maddie Robinson. The other pins aren’t super error prone but they have a hard time putting the ball away. They are trying to replace possibly the greatest Ute of all time, a veteran setter, a right side and two key servers from last year. While they return their middles, they obviously weren’t getting a lot of production last year behind Drews. Without Drews as a go to, it’s going to expose a lot of weakness for a while. I have no doubt they will rebuild in the next couple years back into a team that can at least hang with the top of the PAC, but in the meantime there’s gonna be some growing pains. Adding Lauren Jardine from Wisconsin will help the situation you posted about immensely. 6'2" OH with a 10'6" approach jump; 2020 Under Armour First Team AA; 2020-'21 Gatorade and USAToday POY for the state of Utah; 2x AVCA National POW; etc. I love Beth as a coach (more than personality); she and her Utes gave the Stanford team everything they could handle in the 2019 Reg. Semi. A 5-setter which...if a few more fortuitous bounces in some wonky net action had occurred in the fifth set...could have derailed the strongest SU national championship team in their 3-NCs-in-4-years domination. My 2nd favorite Pac12 squad. Drews was such the amazing unicorn: from the state of Utah. It can happen!

Averaged less than 8 assists per set as the full time setter for a 13-19 team, while attacking at .133. Hope she can step up to PAC 12 level.

I was so wrong about Madi getting playing time at Utah. She has really done well. Good for her.

Yeah, Drews was one of the best players in the entire country, as well as probably the best Ute ever. That's not easy to replace. Also, while Robinson has tons of power and was pretty effective in 2020 (spring 2021), hitting .248, I didn't realize until I just looked it up that she only hit .218 in 2021. You are kind of forced to take the bad with the good with Robinson--one of the more interesting and yet unpredictable players I have watched. When she terminates it is spectacular. I always watch when she plays. Very interested to see how she functions with Jardine. As interesting a OH duo that I can think of. My curiosity is absolutely peaked.

I think Robinson is easy enough to figure out. She has an absolute cannon, but that cannon misses a lot more than one would like. It will be interesting to see how she does as the No. 1 option, as she always had someone else (RJP, Miller, Drews) ahead of her in previous seasons.

Curious to see if one of these OH will break into the starting lineup. Love Lauren Jardine. Such a great person. And the girl has legit hops and a big arm. I expect her to crack the starting lineup for the Utes this season, especially when they need her athleticism and IQ so muc. Hooray for her! Glad she found a perfect place to land.

As a Wisconsin fan, I am sorry to see her leave here, but there is so much competition on the pins here. As I heard, her former teammates were some of the first to show love online for her transfer post, which I think says a lot (in a good way), and she clearly has a ton of upside! I wish her the absolute best at Utah (unless they play Wisconsin)! Honestly, the last 2 seasons would be the only time in my time as a Wisconsin fan (22 years) where she wouldn't be starting or a "thank the volleyball gods we have her as a backup" left side, imo (and they used her to good effect even then)!

I'd say so. Maybe top 30. Time will tell.

I think the #22 is also high. And there is no way that Lauren jardine DOESNT start from the beginning of the season. IMO

Does anyone know who’s setting? Or playing opposite of Robinson and Jardine?
