That moment when you embarrass a team’s serve receive unit, only to become part of it 😂

I’m confused about the Akana transfer…. I would think that her role on the Texas squad would be very similar to her role on Nebraska. I guess she can hope to take the libero jersey next year after Fleck graduates?

Allegedly her scholarship was pulled. Whaaaaa? Yikes on bikes. After reading more of what people are saying, I don’t think her scholarship was guaranteed for next season and they ended up not having enough. She wasn’t on scholarship her first season(spring season).

She wasn’t on scholarship her first season(spring season). Do I recall correctly that the COVID year rules included 'extra' scholarships for 2021 that are not available for 2022? IIRC, schools that players in fall sports on scholarship the for 2020 (spring 2021) season who would otherwise have exhausted their eligibility but then came back to play in 2021 did not count against the 12 scholarship limit. That is, Nebraska and Wisconsin and whoever else had more than 12 scholarships available for 2021 but have to get back down to 12 for 2022. A headache for all coaches, and likely meaning that Akana isn't the only player who was on scholarship for 2021 who then found none available for 2022 (if that is what happened).

Is this officially a pattern where Cook pulls scholarships and you can't trust him as an SA?

You can go all the way back to Danielle Minch. And I seem to recall some other athletes purportedly on 2/2's who didn't make it to their scholarship years (Tiani Reeves, wasn't the Brazilian supposedly on a 2x2? f.ex.) for whatever reasons. Nebraska seems to be pretty upfront about being cutthroat like this (at least the program if not the fans)
