Texas pulls out the win 3-1. Molly back in the middle with 10 kills hitting .600. I love her.

1. Hope O’Neal is ok
2. Solid win to adjust once she went out and losing the second
3. Serve, Receive,Set
4. Logan is incredible

I think she got hit in the nose/face in point 12-13 of the second set I just went back and looked and I think that’s what happened. She stayed in for one more play after the hit but you can see her kinda wiping her nose, then she walks to the sideline and TX takes a timeout. |

I was like, wait Pierce(?!?) is in the game? And then, discombobulation.
Pierce looked like she wanted NO part in any ball handling. Like, WTF this is a real game!
Three things that stood out from that fiasco of a set:
1) Don't have a trained MB3 ready to go - I guess Pierce knew she was getting redshirted and viewed herself as a practice player
2) We've still got enough solid players to not let set 2 snowball out of control
3) Jerritt and coaches adjusted well for sets 3/4

Not sure on the rules. Does playing when you were not injured for a period of the season burn the redshirt opportunity? I am hoping O'Neal is doing okay. Texas does not want to get any more "creative" than moving Phillips to middle and Parra to right, I am guessing. Wisconsin has had to win with some interesting lineups at times over Sheffield's tenure, but it is not what you want this time of year.

For starters, Pierce is a walk-on and she almost assuredly is just that - a practice player. Our MB3 is Molly, but she was already playing in that set. I have a feeling the team might have been trying too hard to cover for Pierce. Remember Tech is not a chump team and they beat Baylor in one of their matches this year. Also Madison Williams wasn't with the team (she wasn't on the sidelines and wasn't listed in the player lineup) so she wasn't available to be inserted instead of Pierce. |

Logan really showed her leadership tonight. Like wow. And I had forgotten how well Molly plays middle. I’m super impressed with how everyone responded 🤘🏼

There's a prior thread about the calculation of the percentage. Needless to say, playing 1 or 2 games out of the entire season won't burn her redshirt. |
