Not sure on the rules. Does playing when you were not injured for a period of the season burn the redshirt opportunity? I am hoping O'Neal is doing okay. Texas does not want to get any more "creative" than moving Phillips to middle and Parra to right, I am guessing. Wisconsin has had to win with some interesting lineups at times over Sheffield's tenure, but it is not what you want this time of year. Yes that will burn Pierce's redshirt. However she is a walk-on so she likely won't be staying for a fifth year anyway. Actually Parra was playing on the left. Fields went to the right though it appeared some rotations she stayed on the left and Eggleston lined up on the right.

Oh, and congrats on the share of the league title, at least. They have won a slew of them, but it is still something to celebrate!

i thought a player had to hit a certain percentage of playing time before a redshirt is burned.

There's a prior thread about the calculation of the percentage. Needless to say, playing 1 or 2 games out of the entire season won't burn her redshirt. Incorrect. The percentage calculation that was discussed was a medical redshirt situation where a player is no longer able to play in the season due to injury or another situation beyond the player's and team's control. Otherwise playing just one point in the season burns your redshirt.

i thought a player had to hit a certain percentage of playing time before a redshirt is burned. That's a medical redshirt situation where the player misses the remainder of the season due to injury or another situation beyond the player's and team's control. Don't get it mixed up with football where they passed the rule three years that a redshirt could play in a maximum of four games. That is the only sport where the redshirt rule was changed. Volleyball is still play in one game, the regular redshirt is burned.

Also won the automatic qualifier as we have the tiebreaker over Baylor. I suspect most of us and the team are waiting to celebrate an outright conference championship (hopefully) tomorrow night. Got a question for you. How did you feel about Wisconsin celebrating the co-championship tonight and especially putting on the T-shirts after the game? I thought it was a bit odd to do it tonight.

I understand that coaches in many of the other sports were opposed to changing it for their sport which is why they just went with football only so that it would pass. It was said that it would be reviewed for other sports, but I suspect COVID has taken the attention away from it plus I still haven't heard any push in another sport, especially volleyball, to implement it in their sport. It's possible their might not be discussion of it for other sports until the free COVID year is exhausted.

So typical of you to only post in this thread when Texas lost a set. Sorry that you were disappointed that there weren't any more opportunities.

In this era, it seems to be the way things go. They did clinch a share at least, so you are going to put up a banner. The league did bring a trophy, so I guess you go with it.

It was weird. I thought they won out right when they were putting on the t-shirts, very likely will but still weird.
