Maryland setter, Dowler, having a good night. She really betters the ball.
-Note, both Dowler and Shafmaster are Sophomores. There will be many more contests between the two.

I'm getting tense. Thank God MN found a way to win the second.
MD going 20-12, 8-12 in conference, with WI and MN bookend wins, would be wild - and not a tournament team. I don't want that to happen, obviously.

I believe that last night's battle with PSU led to an endorphin flush MN is having a hard time mustering the energy to be truly competitive Shaff just has to get sets put where the hitters can terminate
Someone has to show the kind of leadership that ignites some passion on the floor

If Maryland can keep up this service pressure, I really don't see how MN wins this match. They are showing nothing that suggests they'll win enough points. Reminds me a lot of their match against Pittsburgh this spring. Just SO tepid and mediocre.

Note how Wenaas is scoring from inside where she can hit hard and NOT into 4 hands
the first was an assist for Samedy the second from McGraw

It doesn't have to be pretty or with a big margin.
I'd agree they look bleh - but here are they are up two sets to one.

The Maryland gym might be the worst in the Big Ten, no? They have a bigger court (in the same building-Xfinity Center) where basketball also plays. Historically there were a few matches in there each season, but because it’s big and they don’t have the attendance numbers, this gym can feel more, er, intimate. As an attendee, I’ll never not hate bleachers though.

Wow. What a turnaround. Great serving by CC and some key kills from Wenaas down the stretch.

Or just don't let them serve!

ALERT
Shaff must set Husemann in the middle with one hand only!!
That might be Ellie's first legit termination on a middle quick all year
And K. Myers gets one in the middle at 12-6
