I got a ticket but I couldn't figure out which side was the bench side and which is the opposite. It has been too many years since I have been in Minny. I think I am opposite the benches, close to the locker room. I really hope my Cyclones do well. They are rested, which could be a good or bad thing, since they had a bye week last week. I really do think that this will be a battle with Cyclones have nothing to lose. Player bench side is where the chairbacks are (“L-2” through “L-6” on the ticketing site). Same side, further up, are bleacher sections 101-106, and the upper deck (201-206). Opposite side has sections 107-112, which are about twice as deep as the other sections (e.g. section 2 and 102 have, combined, about the same number of rows that section 108 has). If they keep the same sides as they had during the season, the “home” team will be on the higher-numbered sections (most of 4, 5-6, 104-106, 110-112). On the other hand, if they switch the sides teams play on, the same way they flipped starting sides in previous years, it’ll be opposite. I have no idea whether Stanford or Iowa State will be the “home” team for the first match. Thanks for the clarification. I'm in 111 so it is what it is. I'm hoping to sit closer since I only have a pass for the one session and I'm guessing Minnesota fans will come in later, unless they are good volleyball fans and come to watch both (but the time does overlap with the work day).

There are face mask ushers with little signs that say mask up and they will single people out.

It’ll vary, esp with the early start time. I plan on being in my seat for the first serve, but others will likely trickle in over the next couple hours, since it starts before people are done working, and coming early means eating (and paying $$$ for) arena food.
If you want to say “hi” I’ll be in the endcourt chairs, in the corner of the court furthest from the doors (right next to the normally-Gophers bench).

I am glad the Clone Sr's get to play in the tourney. I hope they can play loose and pass well. If they do that then Condi can have a major impact on the outcome of this one. Go Clones!

First round match on ESPN? ETA: I don't see it on the schedule at ESPN.com. Who knows. There's no link on either team's page or Minnesota's page and I needed to put something there. ESPN is playing a bunch of the matches so, without anything specific from either team or Minnesota, I used that. If you find something specific, please post it. A whole bunch of first-round and second-round matches will be on ESPN+. Stanford does have a link on its schedule for WVB, but it is to all the matches on ESPN+... not just Stanford's... in order by time. The first matches kick off at 4:00 PM EST (1:00 PM PST) and Stanford-Iowa State shows up at 5:30 PM EST (which is 2:30 PM PST). Volleyball Matches on ESPN Plus

I updated the link in the OP when that came out on Dec 1. But I appreciate you letting me know. I think all the matches except those in the Texas subregional are on ESPN+. They carry the ones from Texas on ESPN3 as well as the LHN.

I think the school that has Cardinal for a team color will win.

I think the school that has Cardinal for a team color will win. If the Gophers and Cardinal win today, just come out tomorrow wearing maize and blue and you'll win. Thank God we didn't get sent to Louisville to play Michigan in the first round. For Stanford, the NCAA volleyball tournament and Michigan go together like ham and the Black Death.

The sidearm stats link is showing ISU won this 3-1. But clearly are showing the stats and plays from some other match (UMinn and UMD).
