On to round two!! every team that makes the tournament starts 0-0. I'm not sure what the loss to UCSB has to do with Hawaii winning vs the SEC #2? If anything it proves that the big west (UH and UCSB are legit). |

Honestly UCSB could've been a tournament team had they actual won some of their 500 5-set matches in the beginning of the season. I don't think those UCSB losses are anything to be ashamed of. It definitely prepared Hawaii for tonight!

I'm usually very critical of NCAA's coverage of the tournament because its usually never even, but this year it seems that it is spread around.

So much for the RPI and top 25 rankings. All shibai. Mississippi State and all the ranked teams earned that. They didn’t go down without a fight. Let’s not dismiss the accomplishments that other teams earned in order to lift up a Hawaii team that came out on top for one night. |

I really hope Robin extends an invite to MSST to Hawaii next season for a pre-season tournament. These Mississippi state girls deserve it. Add it to the list of firsts for them. Also the potential for a nice RPI boost if MSU can remain consistent in the SEC. |

What teams have to worry about is the FACT the Wahine have NOT played their absolute BEST yet. Will they, only the forthcoming matches will be the testament to that. The Wahine team has been so Up and Down this season, is it in them to play an entire match on the Up side. I believe they can, but will they, that is anybody's guess. But the one thing I can say, when, or if, they do, I feel sorry for the team they are facing, when it does occur.

Also the potential for a nice RPI boost if MSU can remain consistent in the SEC. I think a lot of teams are going to want to schedule Miss St. in the pre-season now. They could go from 22-5 to 14-14 real quick. They will be a very interesting team to watch in 2022. Also, who knows what happens with the portal. Maybe they're a more attractive destination now. Probably would have helped if they won this match, but, getting 2nd in the SEC certainly turned some heads. |

The problem is the Big West didn’t play a spring season and basically lost a bunch of early season games OOC and had bad conference RPI. Hawaii’s 4-6 record didn’t help.
Clearly teams were starting to get it together at the end of the year, but it was too late to save the OOC. The Hawaii-UCSB game looked like 2 Top 50 teams going at it. It’s fortunate Hawaii was challenged in its last game.
