I hope CC plays. Also, really torn on who I want to win. If Wisconsin can reach the regional final, I would not be averse to seeing Stanford there, to hopefully end an all time nemesis thing (plus, Samedy and Pressley are truly scary, and I am glad the Badgers survived them thus far this year).

No offense, but Minnesota has 2 elite hitters?? Who’s the second one Lmaoo I mean… Wenaas has been a serviceable outside and has the chance to be elite… but I don’t think she is ‘elite’ yet..

Yes! They need CC

Wenaas is an elite performer
ceiling possibly higher than Sarah Wilhite ahead of Wilhite as a sophomore in terms of leadership and improvement and Shaff isn't SSS but their chemistry has improved a lot recently terminates reliably when not facing a wall with more velocity than Samedy most of the time has excellent back row attack capacity her serve continues to flatten with pace
she isn't putting up Plummer numbers, but she doesn't have Jenna Gray feeding her.

So is Kipp--frighteningly good, that is.

So is it confirmed that McGraw won’t play this match?

So is it confirmed that McGraw won’t play this match? It seems unlikely she will play but it has NOT been confirmed and will not be confirmed before the match.

So is it confirmed that McGraw won’t play this match? Not confirmed. But very unlikely she'll be there. I agree with other posters that if McGraw tested positive for Covid and actually has it, how odd it is that no one else on the team got it. It's possible of course, but strange. Could be other illness as well, but I doubt it. If it were simply an injury, she'd be on the bench with her team. Could've also been a bereavement situation. But again, there's been some rumblings from folks who know McGraw that she will not be available for some time. Most likely reason to me would be a positive Covid test. To be clear, however, that is speculation at this point.

I think Stanford is favored with McGraw out. Yeah. Really unfortunate. I would call it a coin toss but you may be right saying Stanford favored. Whenever I see an athlete out and not in attendance I now immediately think of Kylie Miller and a concussion. That is not based on any inside information. This medical issue is being kept tightly under wraps.

Stanford has been a team winning bc of their offense, and not defense… so McGraw being out leads me to believe Stanford can take this one. Good luck to both teams! But go Stanford

Stanford has experience losing their L. It happened to them at the end of the 2nd set against UCLA in late September. Up until that point they had woman-handled the Bruins. After winning the first two sets 25-18, they barely lost the next two and got smoked in the 5th.
Fortunately for Minnesota, they have a little more time to practice and prepare with their alternate L and DS.
What I remember from the match between Minny and Stanford in Eugene is how Minny dominated the 3rd and 4th sets. Shaffmaster was sitting in her office with her feet up on her desk accepting 3 passes all day long. Samedy was going OTT or seam versus a weak Stanford block all day long too.

It seems unlikely she will play but it has NOT been confirmed and will not be confirmed before the match. I think Stanford is favored with McGraw out. I'm going to say MN is still favored for a similar reason... whoever MN puts into Libero will still be better than Stanford's libero. As I was rewatching the Stanford match from yesterday v. Iowa St. it struck me at 10-9 Stanford 1st game that almost any other Libero would have gotten to the deep middle tip Iowa St. put down. Then two points later, at 11-10 Stanford, Iowa St's OH hit a cross court deep shot that was only about 3' inside of Stanford's libero. It was a normal paced shot. Stanford's libero couldn't get it up. It reminded me that reaction time is a really critical attribute for a libero, and Stanford's libero appears average reaction time at best, and compared to other libero's, probably the worst I've seen this year among top teams. Somebody needs to slip some amphetamines into her water bottle
