As a Stanford fan, I'd love to see them play with more energy/fire. But, for whatever reason, this group of players just doesn't. Maybe the youth has something to do with it; certainly the personalities of the specific players has a lot to do with it. But until some of those players find that within themselves, we are where we are... c'mon, we've never been an energy program. we've always been so steady emotionally. even when the greats do something otherworldly, they quietly move on to the next point. a few exceptions in there. having at least one energy person is helpful though! Which, for most of the last 30 years when we've just been better than most other teams, has worked very well.
But, kinda along with what the color commentator was saying, when you're the underdog you need to dig a little deeper into your passion reservoir, and you need more energy to help you find an edge. They found it with Inky in '16. But last season and this, Stanford has been more of an underdog, and they've needed something else to get to the next level. And they haven't really found it with any consistency.

I'm dumbfounded. I expected Minny to win, but it should have been a lot closer. Stanford's passing was horrible all night. Even Oglivie, who generally is a good passer, was in the shank tank.
