ucla better not deny melville and then go and flop to wisconsin UCLA can play better than they did today but this was bad not exactly feeling optimistic about their chances. If Luper can play in the front maybe. UCLA would need to really turn it around. It should be interesting to see what they can do in less than a week.

McCall had some good kills on the left towards the end.
The few times I’ve watched UCLA play, Martin is always trap setting McCall or McCall is just hitting straight into the block. Not sure what clicked there tonight, or what fell apart on the UCF side.

The sad part about UCLA is the inconsistency . The second set look completely different from set one and set three, then they pull it together in set five. It is so strange

Happy to get the win. Even more happy to see that Charitie Luper played. I thought she was out for the season.

Ugh. I feel horrible for Melville. The girl takes a zillion swings a match, has had double-digit kills in every single match for UCF this entire season. Covers a ton of court and actually plays great defense unlike her teammates. She's having a tough match.. but she put up 25 kills last night and her team wouldn't be here without her. She's a hell of a player. pls leave mckenna... there are greener pastures. Seems awfully cynical to wish for someone to transfer.

This is what I've always wanted to see from her. If she isn't bringing it offensively, hopefully she at least puts up a decent block. UCLA will need a similar performance from her next weekend. She just needs to shut down Orzol and Loberg and things get quite a bit easier for the Bruins. Periodically they shut down themselves. The last couple of games they have been better.

Oh so she didn't play this season?? I wondered what happened to her No, she tore her ACL and was probably still not 100%. She could've also made the decision to redshirt so she could possibly get more years wherever she ends up. I believe it was her Achilles, unless she picked up an additional injury.

The few times I’ve watched UCLA play, Martin is always trap setting McCall not just McCall. May also. There will always be some traps, and some sets too far off the net, but Martin is just not very accurate with her placement. I am increasingly feeling bad for May this year with the quality of sets she gets. I really was not going to mention this, but in the subject of trap setting, this past weekend I lost count of the number of Fleck bump back-sets that were either trap or right on top of the net. She would do better to get it a few feet off. And that made me wonder whether she is capable of hand setting? I know for sure she won't get anywhere in the USA gym with crappy setting, but even pro libero'ing wouldn't be possible with those sets.

Fleck is like one of the very best setting liberos in the country that's what I generally thought, but not what happened this weekend, and I was referring to setting this weekend. It still makes me wonder if she is capable of hand setting?
