Sad for Creighton. Way to fight after losing Jaela. Very Pitt 2018-esque in that regard.
Congrats to Kansas. Bien is going to be so good.

Makes Oregon look not as bad, in that Kansas is just on fire, beating Creighton too.

Really lousy set of circumstances for Creighton and that makes me sad, but can't take away from how Kansas showed up for this sub-regional. Very well played.

How bout them Jayhawks! In the biggest match of the season Caroline Bien played her best game of the season. Love to see it from the freshman. Her ability to get kills on out of system balls was huge. Crawford didn’t have the biggest night but her and Langs combined to have pretty good numbers in the middle. Mosser was solid as always. Kansas’ passing has been there problem the last few years, but kudos to them for playing great floor defense. And my biggest shoutout goes to Camryn Turner. She has come from nowhere to really give some great sets. She started the season as the THIRD setter, then was apart of a 6-2 before taking over full time. She plays great defense and she takes some good swings. Wow is all I can say. What a weekend.

Best hitting line from Mosser in a a long time. 16 ks and only 2 errors. Great team effort - but Bien is absolutely the star. She is getting KU kills OOS when the serve receive starts to go south. I expect her to be hitting out of the back row next year.
I watched Bien, Wait, and Crawford play club in February 2020 at Triple Crown in KC (right before COVID broke out). This was the last time I have watched any club VB. The Mavs had an injury to an OH and Bien filled in as an OH (being a libero her entire club career). The improvement as a hitter from what I saw 20 months ago is remarkable. I don't even know when Turner started playing club volleyball - being a star basketball player from Topeka. This looks like an impactful class - to go along with the Covid class with Crawford and Elnady - all with 3 more years of eligibility. I like it.

Kansas is going to be good even in the upcoming years. Seems like they’re silently making a comeback after they fell off a little in 2017

She was an all-around stud in HS, but only played Libero in club until she reached 18. I don't the exact details, but she grew several inches late. A 5-7 to 5-9 libero became a 6-0 player with some special skills. A complete recruiting steal. Prepvolleyball had her at #14 in their senior aces as a libero (but not sure how much we can rely on Prepvolleyball by then).
