Refs are straight awful. There would be zero issues if they got it right the first time… I think we saw this throughout the season tho. Refs being apprehensive to stop plays mid-rally and I think it’s largely because they figure “Eh it can be reviewed later.” |

General Challenge Review thoughts: 1) NCAA needs to supply higher framerate cameras for the NCAA tournament matches. Individual schools will never justify paying the cost, but the NCAA should at least up the ante for the tournament. 2) You shouldn't lose a challenge if you win it. 3) You shouldn't be able to challenge the entire flipping rally. I prefer the international rule, you have 8 seconds from the point of contact that you wish to challenge to initiate your challenge. If the play is still continuing, that means you are killing the rally. If you are wrong with your challenge, you lose your challenge and you lose the point for wasting everybody's time. with the %*$#ty camers that get used, it's still a mystery why they don't have 2 challenges per set, and keep it if you get it right. Most of the replays are just blurry and relying on replays to be definitive is ludicrous. I know it's probably considered an overall time thing and how long a match goes, but this is the playoffs, getting the call right is more important than the length of the match. |
