She does end up finishing 3rd all time in kills for UCLA with 2063. Top 2 are Kristee Porter (2255) and Natalie Williams (2115). Liz Masakayan is the other players with 2000+ kills finishing at 2044. I digress. But hearing the name Kristee Porter and watching Wisconsin vs UCLA tonight reminds me of the Regional Final in 2000 when Wisconsin played UCLA in a 3-hour 5 set match (before rally scoring). The Badgers won in 5 with Meggan Kohnen doing her best Willis Reed impression and stabilizing the Badger passing on 1 leg. I’ve been watching volleyball for 40 years and that marathon match is still the gold standard. Best volleyball match I ever watched AND the loudest I’ve ever heard the Field House. I was there. You are right. What I remember is a Sherisa Livingston solo block (on Porter?) to finally, finally end the match. Yeah, it was the loudest I have ever heard the Field House. The current crew has never heard it that loud. The upper deck was mostly full. We lost our voices.

He’s got a lot of nerve showing his face in the Field House after what he did to her. Like what, giving his team the best chance at winning a gold medal which they eventually did? Some of you really have to go over it. No one is taking it from Carlini, she is an exceptional player and would’ve made probably every other roster. She will have a chance to compete for a spot in Paris 24. It’s not like it was Karch’s personal vendetta on not giving Carlini a spot. …It was a joke.

Neither Micha nor Jordan run a better offense, block better, play better floor defense.

My favorite moment from last night:
Best comment on the tweet: "That ball had a family!"

Even with an all time great like May on the roster for 5 years, UCLA postseason record with her is a pathetic 6-4 . To be fair, however, 6-2 against teams who are not Wisconsin in Madison. The Gophers could beat them later today technically in the Central time zone, but that would be the first win by an opponent in Madison in the NCAA tournament in the period of May's career, so, at worst, a 9-1 record for the Badgers in that situation when she was at UCLA.

Sad for May but happy for Wisconsin Don't be too sad... after all she has two Nattys in volleyball... Beach volleyball.\ She deserved better than Sealy. Imagine if May had played for a coach that knew how to develop setters. Maybe learning to hit consistently %*$#ty sets will benefit her in pro ball, but prolly not. Steino didn't completely make up for that coaching deficiency but I'm sure the total experience was not too bad.

Can we dream that UCLA gets a setter and a coach?
