I’d say Texas struggles more with teams that dig well than they do with teams that theoretically block well. Advantage Texas. Yeah because they out blocked and out hit Baylor in both games even though Baylor was the top blocking team in the conference at that point.

This is not the match to worry about As a Husky fan, I hope to be able to repost this ironically after the match. There are already lots of quotable content to use 👀

As a husky fan ofc I want them to win, it’s a tough task but Washington is a team that has the weapons to do it. And as ppl have noted before me, they are similar in most aspects than not.

They could’ve chose several routes. They’re inviting three teams to Austin. Instead they focused on their own team in their own symbol’s to promote the event ,and that is the University of Texas at a nutshell. “We love ourselves” Maybe just type of promotion among hosts is typical? I don’t know. Just catching up and realized you are seriously butt-hurt over that graphic. smh….I’m not even a Texas fan but simply appreciated the creativity and marketing design. He's not seriously butt-hurt. He's just trolling. "Lutherville" is HolidayHusker.

Watching the Washington v Illinois match, only through set 1. I know there have been changes since and it’s early in the season. Observations:
Washington serves tough, nice job of serving hard deep and short. Texas passing has to be adequate.
Illinois was out of system considerably and with the Washington size routinely hit out abounds trying to avoid the block.
When Illinois was in system and ran fast Washington struggled laterally to block. Run the offense fast enough to beat the block or tool off the outside. Texas won’t be able to simply jump over a front line of 6’4. In set 1 Illinois wasn’t n system enough to run fast very often.
Your tip must be well placed and not obvious, with Washington’s length you have to drop it right behind the blocker otherwise their length will cover pretty easily, if they have to take the extra step you have a better shot.
Illinois was so error prone it was hard to see how Washington played extended rally’s. Texas will have to force long rally’s with transition offense.
Nothing that tells me this isn’t another Final 4 capable team.

Am I seeing this correctly? Nebraska/Illinois is the second match in Austin on Thursday?
Is this at the request of ESPN? Or is this an NCAA thing?
Just seems odd to me that, the host team (especially the folks in marketing, concessions, etc.) would risk the joint possibly clearing out after the first match.

Not to start the seeding wars again but who did the PAC-12 champs piss off to get the 15 seed?

Both matches are showing to be televised on ESPNU. My understanding is that the 6:30 slot is the more premium (more viewers) slot so it appears ESPNU chose the Texas-Washington game for that slot. I'll also assume ESPN wanted the other match at 8:30 rather than 4:30.

More often than not, it seems like the top seeds play the earlier regional semi-final. This was more important in past years when there was no day off in between the regional semi-finals and finals. Getting less than 24 hours rest, and less than your regional final opponent was not necessarily fair to the top seeds.
