Way to go "Wenaasota" on both your serving and bringing the heat when really needed. Shout out to both Miyabe and Husemann with a solid match. And then there was Myers who came up with some clutch serving. Outstanding finish by the Gophers for the win. September Gophers would not have won this rematch. Has anyone (Gopher fan) actually used “Wenaasota” before the announcer said that? Anyone? Don't know but I enjoyed it obviously or I would not have used it in my post. |

Is there any chance you're projecting here? The way I heard the comment on TV, and in the posts in the thread, is that getting 3 teams into the Elite 8 is an example of the ACC showing up in this tournament. If the ACC had only gotten one team into the Elite 8, I can tell you for sure we would have never heard the end of that. It's a great accomplishment from a conference that hasn't been seen among the elites, previously. To me you just sound kind of petty and resentful by hammering the percentage of teams making it this far. The ACC being good is good for volleyball! But when you have three top eight seeds- the expectation is to have three teams in the Elite 8. Good for them for doing what we thought they’d do. It feels like the Natty won’t be far off at all if it doesn’t happen this year. It just feels like more deflection to me. I'm not saying crown this year's ACC as the best conference in volleyball history. I'm saying give them credit for getting three teams into the Elite 8 regardless of seeding. It's not like any of them have struggled to get there. Collectively they're 27-1 in sets. It's been an impressive showing. Saying something different just feels weird and tinged with some kind of agenda, IMO. |

3 teams already in the Elite 8 is really impressive. I'm not sure how impressive it is that 3 teams out of 15 were really good, when trying to "measure" the conference. only BIG could potentially have as many or more teams in the elite 8, when prior to this season ACC was at the very bottom of the Power 5 in volleyball. i'd say ACC's performance so far has been very impressive! |

Minnesota coach McCutcheon was asked about Samedy as well. He is also blaming the Samedy performance on timing...saying she doesn't hit with her same range when she has an approach that is too fast...Karch doesn't buy it and neither do I, Samedy is a seasoned veteran player who is a frontrunner for player of the year. She got some good sets tonight which she didn't put the heat on that we all know she is capable of. We definitely got the PR answer here, but hopefully they can work out whatever is wrong and she can come out swinging in the next one! you’re wrong, if you watch MN consistently that is something steph struggles with consistently, getting under the ball and not being able to adjust. Hugh was exactly right to say that and it’s something she needs to work on for her pro career. That’s also why she often has more success from the back row |

It was not an incorrect statement by the commentator. |

(I haven’t heard the students behind me call her that, but maybe it’s the west end student section, or the south side of “my” end… or maybe I’m going deaf!)  |

I know Minnesota has had some great pins over the years but I had no idea how good Miyabe was and that is a crime. She can pass, defend, hit... she has so many of the well-rounded skills the Gophers have lacked on the left side from their 3-rotation OHs. WHY WAS SHE EVER ON THE BENCH?! I wouldn’t say that Samedy has the most beautiful of approaches and swings, especially OOS. But she’s trained hard and bleeds athleticism. |
