Ya'll gushing over Jenna when she had 13 kills hitting .111, meanwhile Miyabe has 18 hitting .324. Put some respect on her name! we love them both!!! but things definitely turned around in the 5th when wenaas brought the heat

3 teams already in the Elite 8 is really impressive. I'm not sure how impressive it is that 3 teams out of 15 were really good, when trying to "measure" the conference.

Lots of attention being paid to Pressley and she is great but also sad for Skinner but she did get hers earlier in the year. Both great hitter. Will be interesting to see how Baylor continues as a program with the departure of Texas and what recruits and players they have coming in. Baylor will be in great shape. The state of Texas now arguably puts out more talent in women's volleyball than any state in the country, and UT doesn't even focus on the state. They have a lot of resources being invested in the program. Even after the departure of OU and Texas, the incoming programs will make a positive impact on the conference in terms of volleyball, especially BYU. Honestly, I think the departure of Texas can be a very good thing for the Baylor program in a lot of ways.

Thanks for obeying the rules and being good visitors Minnesota! ?? I’m not down today… is this just masking rules? We’ve had them all year at the Pav (and all indoor UofMN facilities), so we’re used to ‘em, and for the most part, follow them well. Thanks to all the Badgers in the Fieldhouse who rooted for the B1G team! (I suspect they may have had ulterior motives, but will take it anyway.)

Is there any chance you're projecting here? The way I heard the comment on TV, and in the posts in the thread, is that getting 3 teams into the Elite 8 is an example of the ACC showing up in this tournament. If the ACC had only gotten one team into the Elite 8, I can tell you for sure we would have never heard the end of that. It's a great accomplishment from a conference that hasn't been seen among the elites, previously. To me you just sound kind of petty and resentful by hammering the percentage of teams making it this far.

What a team effort by Minnesota. Baylor played well but Minnesota took it to another gear. I think the start was with Miyabe. She continued to swing away and bolster her team with points and smiles, not being extra. CC has settled in a little more and made some great plays. Wenaas caught fire and Samedy continued to push. I love how even though she had a rough match, Samedy allows her teammates to increase and supports them. Myers was clutch from the service line but so were Kilkely and CC!
But I have to say, how lucky are we that we got to watch Samedy and Pressley square off? Special, once in a lifetime type players for their programs. Pressley is not only a classy athlete and volleyball player but also such a classy person as evidenced by her embracing Samedy even though she was probably in pain herself. Go Gophers! Go Bears!

Nothing new to add that others haven't said already, but holy crap.
When your star player is having a really off night (for whatever reason), and the entire team rises to the next level (like about 10x), it's amazing to watch.
Go Gophers!

Way to go "Wenaasota" on both your serving and bringing the heat when really needed. Shout out to both Miyabe and Husemann with a solid match. And then there was Myers who came up with some clutch serving. Outstanding finish by the Gophers for the win. September Gophers would not have won this rematch.

I'm so happy Miyabe showed out today! She's never been the flashiest player but she's one of the players I've just always found myself rooting for over the years.

But when you have three top eight seeds- the expectation is to have three teams in the Elite 8. Good for them for doing what we thought they’d do. It feels like the Natty won’t be far off at all if it doesn’t happen this year.

Has anyone (Gopher fan) actually used “Wenaasota” before the announcer said that? Anyone?
