Hm I feel like this could end up being a baylor sweep. They have way more offense and while neither team gets a lot from the middles, Baylor’s have the potential to score while Minnesotas just don’t lol.

(In case anyone was thinking about attending)
I was just over at the Field House. Surprised and disappointed to find out there is no open-practice this week. Don't know why; there certainly was last week, and I am 100% certain there was two years ago prior to 2nd weekend matches.

I’m not sure about the sweep part but I do agree that Baylor’s offense has a much higher ceiling in this match. Baylor definitely relies on their trio of pin hitters but nowhere near the extent of Minnesota. Baylor’s middles can at least disrupt things some, especially with the depth they have there. Lots of different matchups they can put out on the court. In the first two rounds, Baylor’s middles combined for 4.0 kills/set, with a .417 hitting percentage. Minnesota’s middles were at a combined 1.33 kills/set, hitting .250. Sedwick’s attacking ability is important to note also.

Shaffmaster might be the best offensive setter in the country tho, the force that show throws the ball down with is unmatched

Literally no chance especially considering one of the actual best is gonna be on the other side of the court lol. Sedwick is much better offensively

I’ve been surprised by the overwhelming prediction Minnesota will win. I have Baylor in 4. This team has been clutch in sets where Minnesota struggles. Minnesota has gotten better every time I’ve watched them this season, and I’m a big Miyabe fan, but I think Baylor takes this one. And not in a particularly big struggle either.

I agree though that I *think* baylor will win this one more easily than most are predicting. They already won once this year and I think both teams have improved a lot but I simply think baylor is better. Especially with no mcgraw

Minnesota is likely to be out their second best player and Baylor has made big improvements in their line up and Sedwick and Skinner are much more comfortable together now. It’s not delusional. There’s a reason baylor is the 5 seed lol

They covered well for her absence against Stanford, but Baylor will clearly be tougher than the Cardinal. Looking for another close match myself, regardless.

I shouldn’t say I *expect* baylor to sweep but I wouldn’t be shocked if they do. My official prediction is baylor in 4 but I wouldn’t be shocked if minny won in 4 or 5. The only shocking result to me would be a Minnesota sweep
