I mean, they aren't worse then flashbacks to when Peterson was libero, and she's the second best defensive player on Texas lmao. I actually thought Peterson deserved the libero Jersey until she..didn’t. Not really sure what happened there? With knuckles on the other hand, it was evident from the beginning that she wasn’t going to be able to fill Maloney’s shoes. This new DS/back row attack role is kinda spicy tho 🙃 UCLA DS/back row attacker Chrissie Zartman would have been a great libero, but the rule didn’t exist yet… so that is all she could do. Having her pass 100% of the time and on defense almost 100% of the time would have been awesome for the Bruins. She was set only occasionally, but with her beach background, she did not need to be tall to get some kills. |

Yeah, it had zero drama -- feel sorry for the Illini students who came so far for so little they could have at least come to the Texas game, that entire section was empty until Ill/Neb started. They were there. Were sitting up in corner for 1st two sets and then they all were down standing in corner by Texas band for majority of the rest of Texas-UW |

I really believe that Illinois would have won if if Cooney would have been well, as if DeBruler would have been not hurt. What makes you think that Cooney would have made that big of difference against Nebraska? Against Nebraska the first time against Nebraska she only had six kills while hitting .188. The second match she had nine kills while hitting .148. She may have improved but so has Nebraska. |

I really believe that Illinois would have won if if Cooney would have been well, as if DeBruler would have been not hurt. What makes you think that Cooney would have made that big of difference against Nebraska? Against Nebraska the first time against Nebraska she only had six kills while hitting .188. The second match she had nine kills while hitting .148. She may have improved but so has Nebraska. I don’t think just having cooney swings the match to an Illinois win but it’s dumb to just look at her offensive out put for MANY reasons. 1. She’s a primary passer for them. 2. She’s a senior leader for the team 3. By her not being able to play it pushes one of Illinois best offensive options to a new position where she isn’t as effective. 4. It inserts a freshman who has seen VERY little game time to starting in a sweet 16 match. 5. Cooney is a good blocker and server. 6. Having her there is on the blockers mind at all times and opens up the blockers for her teammates. |
