BYU needs to feed Livingston more to even have a chance Ope, spoke to early...Livingston with the hitting error to end the first set. Not looking good for BYU at all. This may be done in an hour if they don't show up. |

All you have to do is watch BYU play during the regular season to get a feel for how good they’ll be in the tourney. Watching WCC matches this season was truly painful. No teams playing defense, hitter coverage non-existent, &c. I think this first set is just BYU figuring out that this is another level of play. They’re capable of playing with Purdue, it all just depends on how quickly they can rise to that level.

Will see what adjustments BYU makes after this shellacking and might be too early to make judgements but based on that first set, a weak conference like WCC does not prepare teams for the tournament.

That set would have been over even faster if Purdue had put down any of the half dozen overpasses/digs.
