I expect one of if not the weakest field of teams this summer.
Great opportunity for new blood throughout the world

I'm so happy with us (Philippines) hosting VNL (lol)
I'm not sure if we can get people out for the men's game.. but I am positive, especially with Japan (my people are crazy about them - lol) and the reigning Olympic champs (my favorite) and the 2nd and 3rd runners-up. They should have included team USA. Rob's right in saying they'll be superstars here. Aaron's well love.
This is an opportunity for us Filipino to see a world class volleyball game at the highest level.
I can finally see team France in person, live..

I think this is the Venue for the women's game. The same venue when we hosted the Women's Club World Championship 2016 Stephanie Niemer, Lindsay Stalzer and Lynda Morales played for our Team. Took a set from Vitra (bench players) Capacity: 15 to 20k

Somehow the powerbrokers have shifted this to be an Olympic qualifier I'm hearing. Wow!!!! And suprised. So if so that changes everything as to the make up of these squads

So if so that changes everything as to the make up of these squads wait the VNL is now an Olympic qualifier? how trusted is this source? that would change everything... I was shocked to see this also and searched. I found this but I don't know about the credibility of VolleyCountry. Basically, they confirm that VNL IS a qualification event. inside.volleycountry.com/thread/7314-qualification-rules-for-olympic-games-2024/

so basically...countries will be forced to show up at VNL in full force and win matches to keep their ranking up so they can get into Olympics? that's interesting. if the Polish federation is right that could be huge.

FIVB hasnt confirmed the exact methods for qualification, but there will be qualifying tournaments which are after the continental championships. (confirmed in the FIVB calendar) The VNL won't directly be a qualification event, but since it has a lot of ranking point potential, it is still important... especially for european teams.

This is not accurate - the VNL contributes to world ranking points, but it is NOT an Olympic qualifier.
The exact Olympic qualification process hasn't been announced, but will likely start with the 2023 World Cup in Tokyo, like it does in every quad except this quad when Tokyo also hosted the Olympics. The top 2 placing teams in that 12 team round robin tournament typically get the first two Olympic bids (other than France, automatic qualifiers as hosts)

It wasn't explained, but it was assumed they're going to label whichever IOQT Japan is in as the world cup, due to existing contracts.
