Misc thoughts… Badger fans were friendly (face to face, at least). Definitely loooooooooong lines forming well before the match start time in order to get the “good” GA seats. Some Badger friends are bummed, because they can’t stand in line for hours, but they also don’t want to get tickets for, and sit in, the various reserved sections (they like endcourt, just like me). The Fieldhouse was/is definitely loud and rocking. I love the singing. I love that Badgers can figure out how to start (and continue) a ave going around the arena. I love the cell phone lights, including some that red ones (anyone know if that’s a phone S/W option or a lenscap? Concessions are “meh” but they did have Diet Dew. Yay! Still bummed… it’ll probably be a couple weeks before I’m “over it” (based on past years). They had a "red out" at VB (men's hockey) earlier this year where they handed out little cards with a red transluscient screen or filter etc that you can hold over the regular light, and some people saved them. The wave is new at VB, but a staple at football. I'm not sure if it was the band on their own that started it, or if they were prompted by the bench players. I'd never seen the wave before; it seemed to start during one of the UCLA games interminable challenge reviews when the bench and band started interacting back and forth to get it going.

Gophers have had it at football (I assume everyone has), and at WBB… probably some others. They (usually Goldy or a couple band members) try every now and then at the Pav, but it seems to fall flat, even *before* getting to the end courts, which aren’t particularly conducive to the activity.

There's a 'sequence' to it in Camp Randall for football that the band tried to do tonight, with some success: regular for two 'laps', then 'slo-motion', then 'extra fast', then 'reverse', then both directions at once. The got slo-mo to work tonight, and sort-of did 'fast'. They tried to do reverse - the band chanting "send it back" is the 'signal to reverse - but most of the crowd didn't pick up on it, and then the challenge (?) we were all waiting on ended the whole thing. But like pete said, Thursday vs UCLA was the first really good one I recall this year.

My goodness, Samedy. She’s gonna do amazing things. Watching Miyabe come into her own has been really fun. I’ll follow her career, too - maybe she winds up playing for Japan. I think there is a chance for Miyabe to be selected for the Japanese National team since Manabe is coaching Japan again. I wouldn't be surprised if she made the team.

The wave has been done many times... it's just been a few years. It works better when Bucky leads it. This year was the best student attendance in all the Sheffield years. In the past it was a bit underwhelming. I guess when hockey sucks that helps a lot!
Also, why was Goldy dressed as a hot dog?

I sat right over the mini scoreboard on the same side and enjoyed it. Ironic:. "front row guy" is walking along the court in this photo! That is not FrontRowTim in that picture.

Hate that they're forcing Rettke to do interview while she and her senior teammates are acknowledged by the crowd. Yeah, major bummer. I got a high five from everyone on the roster but Rettke last night. Oh well, still super cool to see this team off in their last game at home.

Such a cool thing to get to send off your graduating student athletes with a huge home win.

Couldn't watch this match because of a preempting commitment. Watched it twice since. Thought that gopher fightback was pretty strong - that's a good team with some really strong characters. I still can't believe that kick save from the back row! We got not only that one but another as well. Miyabe was money.
But the badgers have improved some since they face the gophers last. They would have had an easier time with Baylor, not doubt based on what I have seen.
