I think O'Brien was huge for Texas in the spring, which helped a lot. That said, while Eggleston has maybe not been as good offensively, I feel her back row play has improved to the point of being good, making her a huge all around threat. One weakness Texas has is that Phillips is not really a good option out of system, so it is thus Eggleston and Fields, but they are fully capable of scoring in those situations. For Nebraska, Stivrins hit zero and had one block in the last match. She will be better than that, obviously, but Texas can hold down her and Caffey by keeping up their tough serving and avoiding the woman with the off colored jersey. Phillips is a nightmare on the block if the passing isn't there, paired with either middle. I also don't envy Cook the decision on which left side to go with, other than Kubik. All 3 options have been good at times, but this is a difficult match up. Texas has a new secret strategy. We go RIGHT AT the woman with the off colored jersey! Catches ‘em by surprise every time!

If I'm not mistaken, Nebraska has more victories over Texas than any other team. And Texas has more victories over Nebraska than any other team. From what I've seen that is correct, Nebraska leads 32-24.
But beware of the Missouri State Bears! They have a 15-16 record against the Huskers and have been winning at a .484 clip. With only 9 more victories, Missouri State will take the lead over Texas in total wins as well.

More randomness. The Wisconsin-Minnesota thread is full of seating discussions. We're making do with random teams and their record against Nebraska. Not sure who has it worse.

It's in Denton. It was an all-female college for decades.

But this team has been incredibly resilient all year long. I said it early when the team struggled some in the non conference, and then again later in conference play when they would hit some unexpected obstacles. There's truly a "I don't give a f***" kind of attitude from this team. They don't feel intimidated by any score or set result. There's an incredible resilience about them as a group. There's also a Marine type "no man gets left behind" kind of attitude, where no one is allowed to pout or sulk. Everyone is counted on to the utmost. There's an expectation that the next time that player is going to perform, regardless of previous results, because the teammates trust one another utterly. People rise to meet the expectations others put on them. I got to witness that resiliency firsthand, when the Gophers had Texas down 23-17 in set 1. The Longhorns just seemed to find an extra gear and gritted out that win. Gabriel led the charge in that one, and Phillips was the silent assassin too. Not to mention Parra's serving. That match confirmed Texas' #1 ranking at the time, as they looked like a team on a mission. If Texas remains calm and keeps their offense firing, despite Nebraska's defensive efforts, they should pull this one out 3-1.

Her attitude, energy, demeanor and focus never changes whether Texas is up 7 or down 7. She is flat out relentless.

Besides that game you watched, there are a couple of games earlier this year where they were down 3+ points. In those cases, like you said, they didn't panic and just clawed their way back. Since the first couple of games, they hadn't fallen behind more than 3 points - except Kansas.
When Texas was down 7+ points in the first set, they didn't panic. True they didn't win, but there was no body slouching or finger pointing. I wasn't sure if they could make it back from 15-10 in the third, especially when Jerritt burned his last timeout. But visually a together team coming out of the timeouts.

Texas will either blow out Nebraska or Lose in a heartbreaking fashion.
