At 17-10 I turned off the tv. Oops. and I left the Field House after we lost set 3 to go down 2-1 against Penn State. Big oops.

rainbowbadger Thanks for making the thread! I would suggest switching out Aiko Jones for Anna Stevenson as a player to watch. Jones has not been much of a factor this year against any of the top teams. Stevenson on the other hand has been an absolute force on everything except overpasses. Go Cards! Will do, thanks!

In my defense, there was a screeching PSU fan that, truly, I wanted to beat up she was so annoying. I even moved away to no avail. She was even so bold to be in the student section (why they couldn't shut her up I don't know, but I bet the problem solved itself, which, admittedly, I'm sad I missed. I think she was drunk off her gourd).

Why are more people not talking about Dilfer? She's a HUGE reason the Cards are where they are just as Hilley is for the Badgers. Two GREAT setters!

Wisconsin impressed me in their last two games, but I'm a little concerned that they haven't been pushed more to the point of losing a set. When that happens I think it helps a team, up their level. They have also impressed me before, i.e. last year, and then lost just as quick in the later rounds. It's pretty rare for a team to win out the season all the way. I think if any team can beat Louisville, it is Wisconsin. Oh, they have. When they have won their sets, more than 90 percent of the time it took three or more opponent points to finally get the set point. Not an exaggeration. That's the thing people forget, getting pushed can also be a sign of weakness, as well as an opportunity to get stronger. I feel like Minnesota played pretty well and kept two sets really close. That felt like getting pushed. They could have gone either way if the badgers had let off at all. A few more service errors and you are looking at a different result.

Will probably have most of the Nebraska fans cheering for Louisville and DBK. Quite likely. Same with the Pitt fans. I root against Nebraska every chance I get. It will be hard to tell who's who when you have cardinal Adidas and cardinal Under armour for three out of four teams. For you sake, I hope Nebraska gives you one more chance to root against them. As far as Nebraska fans allegiance in the Badger-Cardinal tilt, you're probably right. Our fondness for DBK supersedes Big Ten connection. If the Badgers were playing pretty much anyone else, we Husker fans would be pulling for you - even though we're not real jazzed about facing Rettke at the net one more time.

I think people are talking about Dilfer as much as they are about Hilley. Mathematically speaking, 0 = 0.

I feel this match is for the National Championship. Whoever wins this match will eventually be the National Champion, in my opinion.

The denizens of this place gush constantly about Offensive players/stats, and when they say negative stuff, it is inevitably about passing and setting. Sure, there is a small minority which celebrates setters and liberos, but for the most part everything is structured to deliver the maximal amount of appreciation to OHs and Opps.

Huh? I've been on this board for 14 years. The question was why no one was talking about Dilfer. Someone pointed out no one was talking about Hilley either, so it was even. Individual players have not been discussed much on this thread other than Stevenson, and then only a little as well. I noted there was one post about Dilfer so she was up one. I think you read way too much into those posts.
You seem to be talking about the board. I am talking about the thread. I have 10,000+ posts.
Meanwhile, open practices... 10 am Louisville, 11:35 WI, on Wednesday.

I'm new myself but at least read their profile first lol

I was very aware that Wiswell wasn't new to the board when I said that. His number of posts appears to the left of each one he makes, after all. You should read it as a veteran making a rookie mistake.
Setters just don't get much lip service, except about what they do wrong. At least they get more credit than liberos, But that's really it. I think the setter position is very underappreciated in this sport.
SOTG: So if you read my profile, then you must be aware of how long I've been on this board?
