We were weaker in all aspects. Our hitters were getting blocked or dug or we hit out. We couldn’t dig anything they hit. Their setting was more consistent than ours. We got tooled a lot in block. Our libero could not dig any hits. All fundamental differences so a bad day for us.

No need for a long analysis post.
Outcoached at home again. The talent we have stacks up with anyone.
The girls deserve better and the program to.
You have next move Bubba Cunningham. Lets see how much you care about the fastest growing sport in America and UNC getting left behind.

Having Liv mo swing out of RS is not effective for the rotation they use it - but Skyy also swings better out of middle soooo….
Our Pins struggles cause sets were inside and predictable and our defense was slow and not read well. I did like that Shaff took less balls over head in Serve Receive so there was that lol Niego and Shaff both struggled a lot and Louisville tooled, tooled and tooled some more while we kept hammering it straight into the block or sending lollipops over- nuff said

We started out strong...again! Then let a lead slip (again) as our opponents made adjustments. They knew we would "set left" and so they loaded up against MF which is unfair to her. We have the deep talent to mix it up more.....we have to figure out how to use our amazing talent to our benefit and prey on the weakness of others..... much like our opponents do to us.

Correct. Louisville made adjustments from last week’s match and adjusted in game. That consistently continues to be something we do not do. No need for a long analysis post. Outcoached at home again. Also wouldn't be surprised if a few of the freshmen at least look elsewhere. The pins we have coming in are more athletic than any that will play next year other than Shea. With Shea and Shaff on the LS, expect the freshmen to battle for the RS. I am more interested in the coaching situation come December.

Although no seniors will return, Bubba is going to let Joe coach the promising young team. My info is he is getting 3 more years. And I think there will be some current freshmen looking somewhere else. We need another middle that will be explosive and mobile and can read opponent setters. Perhaps transfer portal for an experienced middle and lib. I’d like to see our athletic 6’4” commit play outside. Swift play RS. New middle with Kaya. An experienced lib. We’d be stacked.

I’m really surprised at how little the players develop under this coaching staff

Perhaps transfer portal for an experienced middle and lib. I’d like to see our athletic 6’4” commit play outside. Swift play RS. New middle with Kaya. An experienced lib. We’d be stacked. I had heard that Joe was selling his "give me 3 years with this top 10 group to develop" narrative. I have also been told there have been complaints to Bubba about Joe's lack of handling Susan and managing the team and that while he is leaning toward a renewal, he is more on the fence than he has been... I think we dont need another middle....she is on the roster and its Sadie Swift. Sadie and Mo both knew that Merkler was a lock for one middle position and Mo and her Dad pretty much TOLD the coaching staff she was playing or transferring after year 1 so there is that....and Allen has close connections being an alumnus...Swift will be a big part of the team moving forward. Wouldnt be surprised to see Bostic or Swain look elsewhere. No one is beating out Babic and the plan is a 5-1 for the future. Swain enrolled early and they basically snagged Niego so she thought she was enrolling early to train and get a shot on the LS. May is going to be the libero moving forward. To be fair to her, she was thrown into the libero role and it has taken her time to learn it at the college level. She will be fine with more reps. The plan next year according to the coaching staff and insiders is that Shaff will be joined on the pin by Shea. They redshirted Shea because while her offense was ready (she has a cannon and range), her defense was not. The plan is to use Thurman who is a lefty Opposite on the RS and if she doesnt pan out it will be either Safi or Sydney. Those 3 are super athletic and can jump out of the gym. I do feel that we will actually have 3 terminating pins next year and finally have RS production. At this point knowing this staff, I think we all need to hope for Joe to make a good homerun assistant coach to replace Susan.

Three more years to coach the promising FR class but what happens if a few transfer out?

I am curious to see all this. Shea has an arm but does she have the ability to score or keep the ball in play - a hammer is not always the tool for all projects. She can’t play 6 rotation so who do you use in SR? Overbeck? Meyerhoffer- if MM plays Libero. Will she get promised the world and then they find a Transfer to take over?
Why would Bostic and Swift stay if Mo and Babic are a lock in and we have seen this year that some players play no matter how the match is going……. There are a lot of schools out there that offer a great education.
Why would Shea stay if these amazing freshmen are coming in. Freshmen are always amazing before they get here and then…….. I feel like the only way this team will do better next year than this year is if they bring in an experienced setter and give the young talent some time to learn AND they utilize all the talent they have. Babic did great this year for a 1st year setter but she has a long way to go to be a top NCAA setter. There was so much talent on this team that never got to play - because promises were made, or coaches didn’t like how they played or whatever. They were all “amazing” when they got here. Ultimately these athletes with all the time and effort they put in should be disappointed that they are not improving as they should be. Who on the bench right now could go in and make an impact - either they have been jerked in so many directions that they have no idea what their spot is or their confidence has been crushed. Better players and confident players make for a better team - My 2 cents That’s is IF they can manage to keep everyone healthy that is which is never the case.
