Anyone have access to the individual hitting percent by set from last night? Aren't those for the match not individual set?

I knew this would happen. I'm trying to watch this great matchup between Louisville and Pitt, and I'm high as a kite on endorphins from the Texas win. I'll take it, for sure, but my ability to lock in on this match would have been better served if this one had been the opener. im comforted by the fact that literally nothing I do matters Hmm. EVERYTHING I do on match day matters. If I wear the wrong shirt, sit in the wrong chair, eat the wrong foods, visit VT before reading the news, it could mean the end of the season for a team that has worked really hard. The Horns not only have to beat the team on the other side of the net, but they have to overcome the obstacles I put in front of them. I know in my heart, my activities have more impact on the match than TX serve, serve receive, and passing combined. It's A LOT of pressure. AHHH!!!

On match threads people keep comparing Texas to the other teams player by player and coming out a wash. Is that wishful thinking or is Texas really not as much of a super team as people like to say? Take Louisville for example, which best Pitt in large part from their serving. But the truth is only Debeer and Scott have intimidating serves, and to a lesser extent Jones. Chaussee’s serve isn’t anything to get frightened about, for example. Compare that to Texas, who literally puts intense service pressure on an opponent during all 6 rotations, and even has one of the scariest servers in the NCAA in their back pocket if they ever want to roll her out there. Chaussee has the same exact opponent pass percentage off her serve on the season that Debeer does and Jones' is even better than the two of them and Scott.

I don’t have access to any of that, though, so if you want to post the figures for Texas and Louisville, be my guest. Edit - I’d prefer tournament, because Texas has been on a different level serving than they were previously, but that would probably take extra work when I’m not wanting to put you out.

VolleyballMag Lee, you have ins with the powers that be. Can we highlight how unfair it is to student athletes? The SAs who don't dress are most likely walk-ons who don't get playing time anyway - it's not like there is some unfair advantage to allowing them to put on a jersey. And the school has already paid for them to travel anyway, outside of the NCAA budget. Does the school pay for the to travel though?
I believe the NCAA pays for 16 SAs. If more travel to the tournament, the school has to pay for their expenses. Which has already been done, since Deandre and Marina are already there.

I don’t have access to any of that, though, so if you want to post the figures for Texas and Louisville, be my guest. Well, last time I peeked at a Texas player's Opponent Good Pass % and asked about it since I found it less effective than what I expected and wanted input from fans, I got told to worry about Oregon and that it was shady to bring it up. I'll take your word for it re: your observations of the serving strategy for Texas changing throughout the season. In this instance, I'm simply letting you know that Chaussee and Jones' serves are as good or better than Debeer and Scott statistically on the year.

I don’t know if I gave you an answer or not, but it’s the kind of thing I’d try to give a legitimate response to. So what are their numbers in terms of good passing and percentage of points scored?

Anyone have access to the individual hitting percent by set from last night? Can we talk about how insane it was that we kept all of SD's pins below .111 last night? Rinse and repeat for the national championship

Rinse and repeat for the national championship You hit out of system and go against that block, that’s what’s going to happen. Even with the great Abbie Blossom. Who is great, BTW. And now Louisville gets their crack at it. With a setter that’s worse than the last three Texas has gone against. Not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but Lazaro isn’t Anchante, Podraza, or Blossom when it comes to being a setter.
